Gave my CANON A-1 another outing to see if the strange 'exposure fault' had been cured -- YES -- it seemed to be OK now! I loaded with the last cassette of 1993 bulk HP5+ and used my Home-Made FX-15 formula at 'stock strength' again and it gave wonderful negs with excellent 'Acutance' -- under a x6 Magnifier to old Canon FD 35mm f3.5 lens resolved very fine details. I rated the 1993 film at 125 ASA . I did PRINTS of these and scanned with HP Scanjet 4570 flatbed. Canon Breechlock 35mm f3.5 @ f3.5 and Yellow Filter OH DEAR !! I forgot to add some 'Unsharp Mask' to the scans !

These didn't see the light of day before.
I took two pictures on the Crown with my Symmar-S "converted". The old 150 Symmar was marked as "convertible". If you took off the front element you got a slower but longer lens.
The Symmar-S is pretty much the same lens but no longer marked as "convertible". So I did the obvious thing and took a few pics with it without the front element. I'm here to tell you the new lens is NOT convertible. You can see very strong chromatic aberation that gets worse the further to the edges you get. You won't see any of that fringing with both elements in place.

The white farmers of Rhodesia were under great pressure during the last years of the liberation war. Raising a family under such challenges was extraordinarily difficult. I had the unique opportunity as a non-Rhodesian outsider to get a glimpse of such a family when I spent a week on the Fuller farm located in the Bhurma Valley near Umtali (Mutare) and the Mozambican border. This faded photo is a memory of a lifestyle which was soon to disappear, usurped by black rule of the new nation of Zimbabwe. The diaspora of Rhodesians now spans the globe as they were pushed out of their homesteads.

I rescanned the film after better cleaning it. This means I was working with a slightly better digital "negative". I felt my last edit took too much away from the lovely skin tones that the film preserved. This edit restores Stephanie's slightly rosy cheeks which had gotten a little too pale in the previous edit.

The Russian River, a southward-flowing river, drains 1,485 square miles (3,846 km2) of Sonoma and Mendocino counties in Northern California. With an annual average discharge of approximately 1,600,000 acre feet (2.0 km3), it is the second largest river (after the Sacramento River) flowing through the nine county Greater San Francisco Bay Area with a mainstem 110 miles (177 km.) long.
Russian River estuary is recognized for protection by the California Bays and Estuaries Policy. Its mouth is about 60 mi (100 km) north of the San Francisco Bay's Golden Gate bridge.
The river takes its current name from the Russian of the Russian-American Company who explored the river in the early 19th century, and established the Fort Ross colony 10 mi (16 km) northwest of its mouth.
The image shot from a Yashica ELECTRO 35CC is from two merged 35mm Kodak negatives and was scanned by an HP Scanjet G4050 and digitally rendered with multiple Photoshop operations.

The roya Château de Chambord at Chambord, Loir-et-Cher, France is one of the most recognizable châteaux in the world because of its very distinct French Renaissance architecture that blends traditional French medieval forms with classical Italian structures.[1]
It was constructed by King François I in part to be near to his mistress the Comtesse de Thoury, a member of a very important family of France, whose domaine the château de Muides was adjacent.[2] Her arms figure in the carved decor of the château.
Chambord is the largest castle in the Loire Valley, but was built to serve only as a hunting lodge for François I, who maintained his royal residences at Château de Blois and at Château d'Amboise. The original design of the Château de Chambord is attributed, though with several doubts, to Domenico da Cortona, whose wooden model for the design survived long enough to be drawn by André Félibien in the seventeenth century. Some authors, though, claim that the French Renaissance architect Philibert Delorme had a considerable role in the Château's design. [3] Chambord was altered considerably during the twenty years of its construction (1519[4] ‑ 1547), during which it was overseen on-site by Pierre Nepveu. In 1913 Marcel Reymond first suggested[5] that Leonardo da Vinci, a guest of King François at Clos Lucé near Amboise, was responsible for the original design, which reflects Leonardo's plans for a château at Romorantin for the King's mother, and his interests in central planning and double helical staircases; the discussion has not yet concluded.[6]. Nearing completion, King François showed off his enormous symbol of wealth and power by hosting his old enemy, Emperor Charles V at Chambord. (Wikipedia)
