A photo may never do justice to a vivid sunset, but I try to capture it just the same. This image was shot in the southern wilderness of Sudan. As the sun set and the heat of the tropical scrubland receded, the sun lit the landscape as if in flame.
This image came from a 33 year old 35mm negative shot from a Yashica ELECTRO 35CC camera, scanned by an HP Scanjet G4050 and restored using multiple Photoshop operations.
Original scanned and edited usind Adobe Camera Raw and Sepia - Orton convertion using DP-HDR.

The skyline of Singapore receded as I traveled by boat to Indonesia.
This 1974 image was taken with a Yashica ELECTRO 35CC. The negative was scanned with an HP Scanjet G4050 and restored with multiple Photoshop operations.

Ngorongoro Crater is a Tanzanian wildlife reserve and National park. It is an equatorial highland volcanic crater with nearly every niche and environment in a compact area of approximately 12km diameter. An amazing variety and abundance of wildlife inhabits or migrates through the crater.
This shot came from a 33 year old 35mm Kodak negative taken by a Yashica ELECTRO 35CC camera, scanned by an HP Scanjet 5470c and rendered and restored using multiple Photoshop operations.
The corridor surrounding the courtyard on the north side of Stanford Memorial Church has a moorish look with beautiful arched colonnades leading around the square.
This image was shot from an Olympus OM-10 SLR film camera using a G. ZUIKO Auto-W 1:3.5 f=28mm lens, scanned by an HP Scanjet G4050 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Ngorongoro is home to an amazing variety of wildlife taking advantage of the many micro-environments found in the relatively small crater. The pictured elephant had charged the Land Rover that a small group of us had hired for the day. Our driver put some distance between us and the perturbed pachyderm.

The forested heights give a beautiful view of San José de Costa Rica far below.

So wie es sich für eine bürgerliche Familie gehörte, waren die Geschwister Regine und Angelika Nöllen um 1890 bei einem Gelsenkirchener Fotografen angemeldet und haben sich für diesen Termin besonders fein herausgeputzt.
Das Foto enstand im Fotoatelier J. Volk, Photographische Anstalt in Gelsenkirchen und wurde noch mit der damals üblichen Glas-Plattenkamera aufgenommen. Das Atelier befand sich in der Marktstr. 9 (heute Gabelsberger Straße, verm. Aufnahmeort) und es gab eine Filiale in der Bahnhofstr. 31. Wer etwas auf sich hielt, ließ sich zur Kaiserzeit gerne dort ablichten.
