The Bodega Pulente wine we sampled prior to starting the tour was their 2012 Sauvignon Blanc - yup it tasted good on this hot fall day!
The trouble with going anywhere on a bus is that most of the time you have to content yourself with taking your pictures through a window of a moving bus. This is what happened here and for most of my other vineyard photos which, as a result, are mostly blurry. Anyway, it gives an idea of how lush these fields are.
We visited six vineyards in total including Hunter's, Drylands, Forrest, Mahi, and two others. On this tour, I learned to appreciate the unforgettable taste of Marlborough's Sauvignon Blanc, probably the most sought after New Zealand wine. It is excellent; and even if you're not a connoisseur, once you've tasted it, you will remember it. In fact, Oz Clarke, a well known British wine critic, once wrote that New Zealand's Sauvignon Blanc is "arguably the best in the world". I believe that!
LtoR:
Private Reserve Series Sauvignon Blanc ‘Barrel Aged’ - lots of fruit flavours (pineapple & apple), refreshing but high in acidity (went well with the creamy brie)
2005 Private Reserve Series Gamay Noir ‘Barrel Aged’ - medium bodied, with lots of fruit (cranberries, raspberries, cherries) and earthy flavours (smoke and spice). (went nicely with the duck salad)
Limited Edition Founder’s Series Cabernet Franc Icewine - rare only made 3 times at Peller - flavours of strawberries, raspberries and cherries and a little spice.
Thanks to DC, we got ourselves into Peller Estate's Art of Wine and Food tasting at the New Vintage Wine Festival.
"Make sense of those old rules and explore the essential elements to truly enjoy wine and food together. Examine the components of wine and the important role it plays. Chef Jason Parsons prepares hors d’oeuvres that illustrate how food and wine come together in a simple, harmonious way."

FMS photo a day March 16th 2013 - 9 o'clock. After a tiring day at work I am ready for a glass of my favourite wine! I wasn't able to take a photo this morning so I'm afraid it's another low light one and another alcohol based one!
The Everrich Duty Free shop at Táiwān Táoyuán International Airport (臺灣桃園國際機場) finally started selling white wine from South Africa.
Ahh! It was good! Much needed the other nights. Can't wait to partake tonight as well. A toast to myself for surviving another round of Fall registration. Off to indulge in a massage this morn and have humpy dumpty put back together again by my massage therapist.

Weltevrede is a Family owned and managed wine estate in the Robertson Wine Valley, close to the town of Bonnievale. The Jonker Family Wine Estate has become known for inspiring wines, nurtured to express the qualities of unique terroir. The story of Weltevrede began in 1912, when Klaas Jonker purchased the farm and planted the first vineyards in the area. He was followed by Japie Jonker, who in 1933 began wine farming on Weltevrede. Today, the tradition is carried on by current owner Philip Jonker, the fourth generation to work this special piece of land.
I recently photographed a charity event for The LaChris Connection, which was founded by friends who have two special needs children, Laura and Chris, that have passed away. TLC works to help parents of special needs children by connecting them with care givers that work with special needs children. If you are the parent of a special needs child, you can find TLC online at www.lachrisconnection.org. You can also access their service through www.care.com, which they recently partnered with.
