Dotted through the bluebells are all sorts of little saplings, such as this sycamore. I was struck by the way the side-light came through the leaves and used a large aperture to throw the background out of focus and focus attention on the sycamore amongst the bluebells.
Today was another wet day and so I walked Ruby into Sapperton Woods I have taken all the removeable bits of off my XT20 and added the 33mm F1.4 lens so that it fits into my jacket pocket. I decided to have a play with the on camera flash and see what I could do with the newly emerging fungi. The first image was of leaves with no flash and then fungi and the main image is of a labrador photo bombing my fungi image.
Mamiya 645 1000s with a Mamiya 145mm SF-C soft focus lens shot on a tripod. That lense produces some of the finest bokeh around IMHO.
This old ball-point pen drawing (from the pre-Viagra era!) was really just an exercise in drawing tree bark.
I only later started seeing it as an example of the importance of maintaining a healthy balance of sunlight allocation.
Should I have included here a disclaimer, saying that it may not be so "family friendly"?

I liked the curve of slope and shadow.
I liked the reflected light from snow onto sapling.
I liked that I was alive and able to be there.
Don't you just love nature!
This little sapling has taken root in a small crack in the rock. How it gathers enough nutrients to eke out a life defies me. The canopy above is thick and dense with very little sunlight filtering through yet it still manages to catch a rare brief ray of warmth and life. Of all the trees I admire on my travels around the Highlands I really hope this little guy makes it.
