Zoey and Holly prepare to leave the City Shelter. It's called the CACC or the New York City Animal Care & Control.
The day before this photo was taken, we selected her from a group of puppies that were up for adoption. The ASPCA Spay- Neuter program is in place and this dog needed surgery before we were allowed to adopt her. Those are the rules. I had to pay for the spay.
According to the kennel records the original owners claimed that after a month and a half, they had no time for the dog. She may have come from a breeder. She seems to be pure American Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
She has a brindle and red coat and her name was "Toni".
Holly did not like the name and it took her another day of research that I did on line for female dog names, to come up with "Zoey" As a result of the spay surgery we could not pick her up the same day.
Zoey seems like an "Old Soul"
Most dogs of her breed are extremely loyal and will not run away from you even if you don't have them on the lead.

I'm in the #2 lane, from which I can go left or straight through. Roughly half the vehicles in this lane will go straight, the others will turn left. #1 lane is left turn only.
See the Mr Safety on the bike with the high viz vest and helmet? He's to the right of the straight through traffic. The bike path is off to the left, so I predict he's gonna make a left turn in front of the straight through traffic. Mr Safety doesn't disappoint.
Me, I don't like getting run over, so I queue up and take my place in the middle of the lane in preparation for the left turn.
A sun-blessed early autumn evening at Fraserburgh harbour, on Aberdeenshire's breezy northern coast, with its lighthouse ensuring safe passage for incoming and outgoing fishing boats.
We wore rubber boots and gloves as we cleaned everything before loading it onto the truck. The smell of lysol and rubbing alcohol became normal.

In addition to the dyke improvement, the existing fishing port is also being brought up to standard and the quay is being expanded. The existing denomination (dike hole) will also be removed and a new future-proof denomination will be installed, which has a double barrier against high water. The foundation of the cut is designed in such a way that it can be used for a new, higher cut at the next reinforcement or raising of the dike.
fotowedstrijd waterbouwdag 2019 KIVI
