Chasing Frankfurt staircases with Lara.C. 🌀🌀
This is one of the few staircases where you don't need to worry about taking top-down shots 😄
The collection of safety pins I have accumulated over the years. Taken for Macro Mondays 'Pins' theme.
A European red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris, vörös mókus) scanning the surrounding area for threat before nourishing. Photo taken in one of the big public parks of Budapest.

Bei genauerer Betrachtung dieser Szene mitten im Oktober konnte ich sehen, dass das Männchen immer ein paar Federn am Kopf des Weibchens festhielt um es über Wasser zu halten. Die Natur ist einfach fantastisch!
Looking closely at this scene in the middle of October, I could see that the male was always holding a few feathers to the female's head to keep her afloat. Nature is simply fantastic!
I received this cute face mask from my sister who bought it at Rembrandthuis in Amsterdam. It has a picture on it from a drawing by Rembrandt. For Macro Mondays. This week's theme: Safety first. HMM

I see these fire extinguishers a lot at shows and have to wonder how many times these old cars catch on fire.....

Cases in Scotland today have exceeded the all time high for the whole of the pandemic.
If you think it is just rising cases and that risks of death are lower then please note:
This time last year there were 70 Covid patients who were being mechanically ventilated on ICU in the UK. This week there are 928 and that is while vaccinations and better treatments are available. This is an awful indictment of how the pandemic is being handled here in the UK.
Please stay safe everyone.

Many beautifully preserved rail buildings at the Nevada Northern Rail Museum in Ely, Nevada. Thanks for the night access! Available light, with a ton of flashlight on the sign.
I like these as they fit over my glasses. They're sitting on the engine of my zero turn and the main reason I need them. The coating is from the last time I mowed. The scene is 2.5" wide and shot with available light.
This could easily pass as a scene from some time ago, aboard an SD18 back in the bad old Missabe days, somewhere deep in the woods along the Iron Range. In reality, this is the view from the restored DM&IR 193 leading a train on the North Shore Scenic Railroad as we pull onto the foot of the Iron Range in Two Harbors, Minnesota to make a reverse move back to the depot.
