Canon 50D and EF 70-200mm f4L USM - riding, Sunday 4-22-18

I think I might like this a lot fairly soon. Meanwhile, I like a bit of help...

Cambria Iron Works Complex, the Blacksmith Shop is the most historically significant of the structures. Originally owned by the Cambria Iron Company, the Blacksmith Shop produced a wide range of metal products throughout the 19 th and 20 the centuries. With the decline of the steel industry and the closing of Bethlehem Steel Corporation in 1992, the Blacksmith Shop has since been vacant.

The Blacksmith Shop is a large brick structure that was constructed in at least five stages. The original building is octagonal shaped with an octagonal cupola, containing heavy timbered roof trusses with iron tension rods, common-bond red brick walls and pilasters. In the 1870s, a rectangular wing was added to the west elevation and in 1885 another wing was added on the east elevation. It retains a full complement of original turn-of-the-century forging and smiting tools and a variety of steam-powered hammers, including a ten-ton steam hammer owned by the Smithsonian Institute and leased to the Redevelopment Authority .

By far the best, if not safest way to see India is through the open doorway on a train. In the days of not even being able to open the windows of steam excursions in the US the lack of safety paranoia in India was refreshing. On a side note I'm not sure if I took this picture on purpose....

SWITCH ON TO SAFETY branded 60007 at Masters Crossing, nr Fairwood Jcn, Westbury.

The words are barely visible on this old sign at the former GM Inland Fisher Guide plant in Syracuse, NY; but, all the switches and track that are still here tell us that at one time this was a very busy place. The train in the background is a westbound CSX freight tied down on track #8 adjacent to the New York-Chicago double track main near mile post 288.

Always take the Coast Guard small boat safety class before heading out in the Salish Sea. The weather conditions can change in a heart beat. A woman had to be rescued from this sail boat.

Astronauts from five space agencies around the world take part in ESA’s CAVES training course– Cooperative Adventure for Valuing and Exercising human behaviour and performance Skills.

The three-week course prepares astronauts to work safely and effectively in multicultural teams in an environment where safety is critical.

As they explore caves they encounter caverns, underground lakes and strange microscopic life. They test new technology and conduct science – just as if they were living on the International Space Station.

The six astronauts have to rely on their own skills, teamwork and ground control to achieve their mission goals – the course is designed to foster effective communication, decision-making, problem-solving, leadership and team dynamics.
