Here's a 1930s or early 40s license plate topper for Orange-Crush. Before bumper stickers caught on, the topper was king. Little metal tabs, often advising other drivers to practice safe driving, soft drinks (as in this case) Cities that were visited, sports teams, oil or gas companies, or simple novelty messages to poor driving habits of other motorists. All of which are fairly rare and can fetch many "simoleons."
Sadly, this topper isn't in my collection, however I do hope to find one for my car, eventually. Though, I'm sure I'd have to shell out for it... Dearly.
Always remember to protect yourself and your lungs when working with aerosols, and airbrushes.
Even if the look isn't cute :)
Same jumper as in the previous photo, sitting on an orange traffic cone. This guy's friendly attitude made up for the challenge and frustration of photographing its dark and shiny exterior.
Enjoy!
Although I seriously doubt you would even see that saw blade coming at you in these goggles without a good clean. Taken as part of the Barrett Lumber Yard Series.
FYI: I am still a landscape girl at heart! But I am really enjoying trying my hand at other subjects recently. When the weather has been as crappy as it has been, indoor still life is a pretty good outlet for creativity.
Outside of the scanner artifact (I think I bumped into the scanner while this was going and didn't have the heart to redo it), I really like how this shot came out. Testing Ultrafine Xtreme 400 in 120, and so far it's working very well indeed. Dries very flat given some time with weights (much more so than I've seen with Portra, anyway).
^^ That's the Coast Guard motto. The M. Charles M.B. Coast Guard boat in Steveston, pulling into the marina, with Mt. Baker in the background.
