In the midst of the evening traffic, NS 956, the railroad's OAR Safety Train, flies north towards its next training location in Spartanburg, SC. Pulling the train are both the first responder dedication units, 911 and 5642 respectively.

This train travels every year to cities around the railroad's network in order to train first responders on hazmat emergency response.

I'm not one of these guvmint haters. I believe in government and the good it can do. But when you see these stupid protective caps on the top of rebar where nobody can easily impale themselves, well, it just doesnt' make any sense.

This is a sign posted as you enter a retriever training and testing property that has always provided a chuckle and I think because it's different, it catches the attention of drivers to slow down and be safe.

Crossing the street in the East End

Whatever their relationship with the constable may come to be in later life, the children of the East End, during their early days, are quite willing to use his protection at street crossings.

Every couple of meters along the docks you find these bright red lifebuoys. They are a real eye catcher in the midst of all the hangars. I decided to upload this picture in black and white, because of its retro look

OMG so excited to have this new Blythe Messenger bag! Me and a few other friends get together once a week to work, sew and pow-wow about ideas. Jonah has been making bags for years, she recently started making Blythe carriers, some of you may have met her at BlytheCon 2011 in Portland. She wanted to making something that could carry more dolls, among other things... a carrier that could service as a bag and tote. We gave her some input and this is the final design. I'm so honored to be her first sale! XD

Check out my other pictures as well as Jonah's blog about the Blythe Messenger Bag:
