They'd been travelling light on a very tight budget. Not always compatible with three sqaure meals a day. Needless to say Den's meals went down a treat.
Unfortunately, the highest point on our land and therefore the best place for a water tank is rather inaccessible and surrounded by trees. After much wandering around with tape measures and calculators Den & I were really pleased that we could find an area where we could build a 40,000 litre water tank and only have to cut down 1 tree. It would mean digging a hole, by hand, over 2m deep and we had no idea how rocky the underlying ground was going to be but we really didn't want to cut down any more trees than we had to. Lets just hope the surrounding tree roots don't penetrate the tank.

... you go to party! This one taken around 5am from our friends balcony after a brilliant night dancing our bits off to a superb live cover band at a slightly bohemian club called Scandal.
As I looked out my window at the crack of dawn, I saw the sun start to line the edge of the clouds with some incredible light. It was time to grab the camera and tripod and scramble up to the tops floor of the hotel to capture the sunrise. I wasn't prepared for the 1/2 hour wait for the camera lense to defog however. To say that Singapore is humid is, well, an understatement!

Not sure why but I really like this picture. We've only met the woman in this photo a few times and hardly know her but her smile and relaxed demeanor really captures my memory of the spirit of the day.
Our BBQ hosts and dear friends Tim & Katie. Thankful that they'd managed to make it through the winter (just) on the income they'd generated from their yacht charter venture (see www.montenegro4sail.com) but nonetheless fearful about the success of the forthcoming season. Once again that all seems such a long time ago and I'm pleased to report their fears were unfounded.
Not sure what Tim's Noel Coward look was about :-)

I uploaded this yesterday and it never showed up. :(
I'm not afraid to say it. I'm proud of this. I've been exploring the topic of graphic art inspired by glass lately and what comes to mind instantly is a mirror. I didn't want something really cliche with a mirror so I sat on the idea for awhile. Then when I got out of the shower it came to me. I think I made my mom a little nervous when I asked her to bring me my camera. Haha. It took so many test shots to make sure the camera wasn't in the frame. I could have cloned it out in PS but like I said before, nothing is ever as good as if you did it correctly the first time. :)
So its back to reality tomorrow. I need to learn to relax on the weekends. I cannot stand not doing something at every moment but I am quite tired now. Maybe next weekend...
