Thought I'd upload a few more of my favourite portraits of people who have touched our lives this year.
Korban Miah has reached safely the Mawa Ferry, a busy river transit route; but the silhouette behind depicts the confusion whether the launch is fit for safety of life. Frequent capsizing of boats due to lack of maintenance and overloading has been causing numerous loss of lives, but the authority is not perceived to be taking effective preventive measures.

Sitges (pronounced [ˈsidʒəs] in Catalan; [ˈsɪdʒəs] in English), Catalonia, Spain is a small city about 35 kilometers southwest of Barcelona renowned worldwide for its Film Festival and Carnival. Between the hills and the sea, it is known for its much-frequented beaches, nightspots, and historical sites.
While the roots of Sitges' artsy reputation date back to the late 19th century, when Catalan painter Santiago Rusiñol took up residence there during the summer, the town really came into its own during the 1960s, when it was the only center for the counterculture on the mainland of Spain (then still under the dictatorship of Francisco Franco), and became known as a sort of "Ibiza in miniature".
Today, Sitges can be considered a dynamic cultural oasis, basing its economy on tourism and culture offering more than 4,500 hotel beds, half of them in four-star hotels. The firm commitment for quality infrastructures has converted Sitges into a first-class destination in terms of tourism of congresses, conferences, seminars and company meetings in the Mediterranean area.
Sitges is also called the St. Tropez of Spain with property prices approaching those of the most expensive European cities, the main reason for this being the beautiful setting by the sea and the surrounding Parc Natural del Garraf. Proximity to Barcelona airport is also a major advantage.
Modern Sitges, preserving important references from the Middle Age and the old farmers’ and fishermen’s town, offers visitors an impressive architectural and cultural heritage, the result of initiatives by artists, cultural energizers and patrons like Santiago Rusiñol, Ramon Casas, Miquel Utrillo or Charles Deering. Thanks to them, Sitges was a reference point for writers, musicians and other intellectuals and became an important center for disseminating Modernism and the "Americanos", who, after returning with their "fortune" from their American adventure, commissioned large mansions from Modernist and Noucentista (post Art Nouveau) architects.

Sitges es una población catalana localizada en la comarca del Garraf, provincia de Barcelona (España).
Tiene una gran infraestructura turística. Con equipamientos y tres puertos deportivos. Además del turismo la población centraba su comercio en la pesca y posteriormente la fabricación de calzado, actividades económicas que han desaparecido (exceptuando pequeños talleres).

Some of you know I've been working again. Started a job in St. Catharines with a defense attorney, which is really different for me, and frankly, on some days, rather soul-crushing. Not all the time. But for years and years I worked for victims of crime and abuse. This is a different perspective, for sure. Some people just have really troubled lives and can't get themselves out for a myriad of reasons. Others are just cruel, self-serving, vicious pieces of....well, flesh.
But I'm working because, basically, I'd rather work than not work. I'm learning something new, whether I like it or not. I met this attorney when both she and I were working for the "other side", and she could not get steady work for the Crown (prosecutor's office), so she decided to take the plunge and do defense work. My contract was ending there, and we happened to be having lunch at the same place and talked about what we'd both be doing in the near future. When she said she was starting up on her own, I offered to help her with her office start up. Just experimentally for both of us, to see if we were a good fit, and if I could contribute something to her new adventure.
She called me a couple of months later and asked me if I was still interested. So, here I am. I am not at all sure if it's working out for either of us. We may yet decide to part ways, which is okay with me, frankly, as long as she provides me a letter of recommendation. I'd be happy to find something less caustic to my system, something that doesn't make me feel as though I've sold out...
The one good thing that comes from my day is that I've decided to take the stairs rather than the elevator. Sixth floor. About four times a day, both ways. Since I leave early for work, and get home late, it's mostly what I do for exercise now. If you watch this video, you'll see why I've linked to it for this shot, and why I've rambled on now for too long about my job.

I am not too pleased with the soft focus ... but we were both moving and this was the best I could manage.
As 2020 moves on and class 91 withdrawls kick in they'll become less of a regular sight but in December 2019 the class were still to be found in abundance on the Kings Cross - Edinburgh workings . 102 and 124 are seen at Edinburgh with their respective workings from Kings Cross .

called Aki Chika, the amber boat is called Akira and the smaller blue boat is called Jiro. This photo represents different members of my family.

An Osprey on the nest.
We took a swamp tour with the great host Kim Voorhies whose family owns the fantastic bed and breakfast Bois Des Chenes. He was our guide for the 2 days we spent in the basin. He offered amazing knowledge and great spots for photography. I highly recommend staying at the bed and breakfast and booking a tour with these amazing people. You will not be dissapointed. He knows the basin like nobody else!
