CN 7229 & CN 4700 do some switching in the Pointe St-Charles Yard six years ago today. The dwarf signals at right are on the connecting tracks of the Montreal Sub. Surprisingly they have still not been replaced at present.
A pair of UP MP15ACs (both originally MILW) slowly approach 9th St. while switching ARM-DAT in KC's West Bottoms. The actual office for ARM-DAT is off camera to the left, but this long-ago vacant building, which obviously was a bar or liquor store, provides a more interesting view, especially with the old Schlitz sign.
The track actually runs down the middle of State Line Rd (out of frame to the right), so depending on which side of the locomotive the crew would get off on, they would be either on the KS side or the MO side.
Pabst Brewing Company now produces Schlitz and Old Milwaukee.
Canadian National SD70M-2 No.8931 and C40-8W No. 2716 cross the Fraser River from the west bank to the east bank with a westbound intermodal service on 21st September 2016.
The nearer bridge carries the CP line across the river from the west bank to the east bank. Thus, CN and CP lines switch banks at this point with the CP line going underneath the CN line at the steel arch bridge.
For operational convenience, CN and CP share tracks between Kamloops and Vancouver with westbound trains taking the CN track while eastbound trains take the CP track, presumably to increase capacity through the area. On this particular day I saw over a dozen trains heading in the westbound direction between about 10am and 5pm, a mix of intermodal, mixed freight and coal. Most were at least 2 miles in length, which to me is a phenominal amount of freight traffic. There were fewer trains heading eastbound during my time in the area.

Old and weathered switch gears provide a foreground for CP train 281 as it slowly creeps out of the Milwaukee Depot.

A trio of EMD's work a cut of storage tanks on the east side of Coulee City and are about to head into town to start doubling up the grain Shuttle. The brakeman is hiding in the thick weeds waiting to count down the train clear the switch.
The WNYP's ME-1 crew shoves back to the yard in Meadville after switching out the Ainsworth dog food plant on the west side of town. Although the rail scene in Meadville is only a shadow of what it once was, it is nice to see Alcos holding down the railroad.
The West Local has completed switching at the aggregate plant at the north end of the Rocky Flat Industrial Lead and is heading back south toward the mainline at Rocky. What you might first believe are clouds in the background is actually smoke. The Cameron Peak Fire is now over 135,000 acres in size.

CSS 2000 & 2001 dropped a cut of cars behind Pioneer Lumber and head east to switch Criterion. The two GP38-2's and train reached their destination via the Amtrak Michigan Line minus the ever so common PTC.

SLB E 61 is used as shop switcher at Salzburg Itzling moving BLB's Flirt EMUs under DC catenary. BLB's fleet get their outside cleaning at the SLB shop.
