After chasing down a storm we finally got in front of it where i go the chance to photograph this lighting bolt.
Shrub is actually a rich green with gold overtones, but the odd light immediately after a bad storm caused everything to have an orange glow...
I wonder if anyone else can see that ominous figure to the left? Storm Queen with her hands held out...
The Grand Canyon and an approaching storm as seen from a vantage point on the North Rim at the end of a hike.
Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky. - Rabindranath Tagore
Today, there was an amazing clouds form over and nice showers across the city. Really a great relief from scorching summer hot.
Clicked tiny portions of this from mobile and merged them in photoshop to give a dramatic clouds view
Newhaven breakwater feeling the force of the big depression that just past over the UK not as dramatic as some recent shots from this location but needless to say the breakwater was securely chained shut from public access !!

Storms in the Daytona Beach area can be really beautiful things as they push out to sea. This front was preceded by impressive clouds that looked like piles of cotton balls stacked on top of each other and ready to fall off. They remained intact far out to sea.

Grey clouds almost completely covered the skies pre dawn this morning, but I headed to one of my favourite beaches just incase Mother nature performed at sunrise, strong northerly winds whipped the beach and distant rumbles of thunder echoed around me, spotting rain, the skies did light with contrasts over the jetty... if you look closely there is also a small lightning strike where the stone wall meet the jetty.... Hudson was safely waiting in the car.
Aerial shot of a monsoon storm lit by lightning, off the coast of Sri Lanka. This shot was Highly Commended in low-light category of the 2014 Sony World Photography Awards.

An eerie scene as I approached the supercell near Dutton MT. Interesting chase day as earlier I went hiking in glacier park and about 2 hours later witnessed a brief tornado and numerous new hail dents in my truck.
The storm didn't catch up with us until we were already settled back in on the bus. Did an entire tour of the North Shore and island for $5.50 using the public bus system. Got off where we wanted and stayed at each spot until we were ready to go on. Much better than any tour bus we have paid for in the past.
