There is a surprising number of things I could say about this image but I am going to attempt to limit them and be relatively concise.
1) This image is meant to pair with the image I posted directly before this one, even though they were made about a year apart and it wasn't until I posted the melted popsicle that I thought of these two together at all.
2) This image makes me think about a bit of the story of H.H. Holmes, a notorious sociopath who killed several people during the Columbian Exposition of 1892 in Chicago. It is said that when he built his house of horrors that he would later use to luring travelers he only assigned small pieces of the overall project to individual contractors. A person would build a wall here or a floor there and be fired. Nobody ever saw anything beyond the one piece they made. I feel a bit like that perhaps with these images. I am creating a piece to a larger puzzle but I cannot see beyond the one or two pieces I am given to make.
P.S. The Devil in the White City is an excellent book, go read it.
3) I know these images will not be nearly as popular as some of my nice landscapes. I really don't care. Popularity is not why I cannot stop doing this.
4) As with the previous image, I am equally fascinated by what I am not seeing here as by what I am.
5) Pepsi or Coke?

Perspective and story. Two key elements of an image. I recently led a Photowalk at the public library in downtown Seattle. I've been to this space a dozen times as a photogorapher and look for something new, each time.
The building is one of the more unique in the city, with awesome lines and colours. As well plenty of space to work and access to computers.
On the 9th floor you have views that go all the way to the first floor, which can mess with you a bit if you don't care for heights.
As we were exploring that floor, I looked over the edge and saw individuals at work. Placing my phone along the railing you see part of the railing as it leads down... Leading your eyes towards the main subject.
When you're exploring the world, your city or neighbourhood, always seek out new perspectives.

THE STORY OF HACHIKO
In 1924, Hidesaburō Ueno, a professor in the agriculture department at the University of Tokyo, took Hachikō, a golden brown Akita, as a pet. Professor Ueno would commute daily to work, and Hachikō would leave their house to greet him at the end of each day at the nearby Shibuya Station.
The pair continued their daily routine until May 1925, when Professor Ueno did not return. The professor had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and died, never returning to the train station where Hachikō was waiting.
Each day for the next nine years, nine months and fifteen days, Hachikō awaited Ueno's return, appearing precisely when the train was due at the station.
Hachikō died on March 8, 1935 at the age of 11 based on his date of birth. He was found on a street in Shibuya.

These are photos taken on my trip to Europe and the UK with a girl friend in October to November 2012. My camera I had then wasn't good with low light so some of these shots are not great but I have put them as my memories of the trip.
We arrived in late morning in Bath by train from London. Spent one night there and most of the next day.
Bath Abbey is a parish church of the Church of England and former Benedictine monastery in Bath, Somerset, England. Founded in the 7th century, it was reorganised in the 10th century and rebuilt in the 12th and 16th centuries; major restoration work was carried out by Sir George Gilbert Scott in the 1860s. It is one of the largest examples of Perpendicular Gothic architecture in the West Country. The medieval abbey church served as a sometime cathedral of a bishop. After long contention between churchmen in Bath and Wells the seat of the Diocese of Bath and Wells was later consolidated at Wells Cathedral. The Benedictine community was dissolved in 1539 during the Dissolution of the Monasteries.

I only say that because I have had a few malfunctions, mishaps, and screw-ups shooting in the Montezuma Hills. But, try, try again.
This scene that came and went with the wind (no figure of speech) shows some areas of fractocumulus clouds in the leading edge, or outflow boundary, of the thunderstorms that made the lightning in the shot a few uploads back. Not your everyday occurrence in Northern California's Bay Area.
Anyhow, after deciding we were in the wrong place for a sunset scene, we zipped over to the Montezuma's, parked rather hastily, scrambled with the camera, and set up for a shot. Not this shot, though. I was fixated on the setting sun to the west (opposite horizon). That was bad because if not for forgetting a minor piece of gear in the car, which required the challenging act of turning around, I would have never seen this color that has that unique look that cumulus fractus clouds seem to have. I almost want to say it is like clouds in oil paintings. Anyway, I believe I recall a brief decree to my two sons to "tell me when this is happening behind me," but I have only myself to blame, of course.
So, that's the story. Then came the electrical storm. Oh, the western sunset shot? Well, that will have to be another day.
Thanks for having a look!
I have begun designing my own Brickheadz and of course I had to start with Toy Story! Here are Woody and Buzz. To cuteness and beyond!

Stories by Akibo Lee:
'Inspired by the true story of Mosha, the artist based his design on his original sketches, completed over many years for his son and to share his love for families. His work expresses his support for saving endangered animals and an appeal to humans not to hurt other species and protect the only planet we have.
Elephant Parade® is a social enterprise and runs the world’s largest art exhibition of decorated elephant statues. We had a full day of shooting video and stills of one of our favorite species - the Polar Bear (Ursus maritimus). As we headed in from our afternoon boat trip, the sun sank low over the Arctic Circle. One last Polar Bear crossed our path - it was swimming in the channel between Kaktovik and the spit of land off the coast. Here the young male bear made landfall and sauntered off into the sunset. He was kind enough to exhale in the cold air, while walking on the dark shore. A "story book" ending to a wonderful day!
My tribute to TOY STORY 3! Might update this one after actually seeing the movie. I can't wait!
A huge thank you to TOY STORY 3 Director Lee Unkrich for featuring this image on his TWITTER page! Wow!

what a Fabulous way to share one of destinations visited ? Fantastic - Terrick Terrick NP.
Looks like a resident of the park, spend about 15 minutes building the trust and getting to a reasonable distance to take few photos.

All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
I climbed across the mountain tops
Swam all across the ocean blue
I crossed all the lines and I broke all the rules
All of my friends who think that I'm blessed
They don't know my head is a mess
They don't know who I really am
And they don't know what
I've been through like you do
It's true...I was made for you
I will be leaving to visit a relative of mine this coming weekend. Will be back by end of next week. See you around in your photostreams =)
