Michigan State Capitol during night, Lansing, Michigan, USA.

We found real beauty of Fall in the Ferdinand State Forest. It was mid-morning and very quiet. We found a bench near the lake and enjoyed the serenity and seeing two eagles soar over the lake and land in a tree on the opposite side.

The Utah State Capitol Building sits just above the northern extent of State Street in Salt Lake City.

The day is about to break along this section of river in Maryland.

One of the larger State Parks in Maryland, it is long and slender reaching across a good portion of the area east of Baltimore, City. Late Fall in this photo, showing some remaining color and soon what winter will be looking like ... until snow falls.

A foggy morning on campus.

State of Grace is a beautiful multicolored rose with shades of pink to gold and copper. She is a standout and excellent cut flower. She will add elegance and old world style and grace to any garden.

The service allowed the effective connection of the city of La Paz at an average height of 3600 meters above sea level, which has an intricate topography, surrounded by mountain ranges and diverse rivers with the city of El Alto settled on a plain located at 4100 meters above sea level. , reducing travel times and costs.

The US State of Washington is under a state of emergency following days of severe wind and rain leading to extensive flooding in parts of the state. The extreme weather was caused by an atmospheric river, a huge plume of moisture extending over the Pacific and into Washington. Different satellites in orbit carry different instruments that can provide us with a wealth of complementary information to understand and to respond to flooding disasters.

The first image captured by the Copernicus Sentinel-2 mission shows the extent of the floods in the Nooksack River, which spilled over its banks this week and washed out several roads in the process. The flooding forced the evacuation of hundreds of residents and lead to the closure of schools.

More than 158 000 people were affected by power outages and disruptions to other services. The conditions triggered mudslides in the region, prompting the closure of the Interstate 5, but it has since reopened.

Optical satellite instruments such as the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites cannot see through clouds, which is why radar missions like Sentinel-1 are particularly useful. Radar images acquired before and after flooding events offer immediate information on the extent of inundation, thanks to Sentinel-1’s ability to ‘see’ through clouds and rain.

The following radar image uses information from two separate acquisitions captured by the Copernicus Sentinel-1 mission on 4 November and 16 November 2021 and shows the extent of the flooding of the Nooksack River in dark blue.

The Copernicus Sentinels are a fleet of dedicated EU-owned satellites, designed to deliver the wealth of data and imagery that are central to the European Union's Copernicus environmental programme.

Stumble It!

So we're out hiking with the dogs and we come around a bend in the mountain and there is something orange on the hillside in the distance, through the trees. It's near sunset and it looks almost like fire. Steph says, "are those poppies?" and I say, "no way. That's too orange. It looks like safety vest orange... like CalTrans orange."

We keep walking and after a while I raise my 70-300 to my eye, take a picture, and zoom in on the camera's LCD. By then it was pretty clear we were looking at poppies... a firey mountain of California Golden poppies...acres upon acres of them. I took this shot when we finally got even with them, as the sun was just about spent.

It's said that California is called the Golden State not because of the gold rush, but because these poppies, the state flower, used to cover most of the entire state in golden creamy goodness every spring. Ships at sea used to admire them growing on the flanks of the San Gabriel mountains, 25 miles inland. There are fewer of them now and a lot more sprawl, but maybe that makes seeing fields of them even more of a treat.

The Massachusetts State House, also known as the Massachusetts Statehouse or the New State House, is the state capitol and seat of government for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, located in the Beacon Hill[3][4] neighborhood of Boston. The building houses the Massachusetts General Court (state legislature) and the offices of the Governor of Massachusetts. The building, designed by architect Charles Bulfinch, was completed in January 1798 at a cost of $133,333 (more than five times the budget), and has repeatedly been enlarged since. It is one of the oldest state capitols in current use. It is considered a masterpiece of Federal architecture and among Bulfinch's finest works, and was designated a National Historic Landmark for its architectural significance.

------Swaying Magical Palms - Palm Trees in Paradise------

*[left-double-click for a closer-look - DAWN - Palms in Paradise]

*[yes, that is MY SCOOTER! LOL Max Speed 32MPH - Love it!]

My favorite "sunrise in paradise" location on Key West. These palms are featured on Jimmy Buffett's A1A album, and the back cover is about 50 yards north of here. While he lived here this was a favorite spot of his and he wrote a few songs here. Have been attempting to get the best shot of these palms for many years. I'M STILL TRYING!

I read that they were starting a major beach-renovation project and

I had hoped that they wouldn't remove my very 'cherished' magical beach-palms that I have enjoyed at sunrise for the last five decades. As I scooted up...they are still here...like beacons in the night...but they are STILL here! LOL Whew! So happy the city is keeping them!
