Randall Park Yakima, Washington. One of the few photos of an immature bird that I have that clearly show that this is a Cooper's and not a Sharp-shinned Hawk. I should probably qualify that statement by saying I am one of the few people who have trouble telling the difference. My other photos of these birds probably work for most people for identification. When people think of New York, they usually think of New York City and its crime, crowds, homeless, etc.. The State of New York is so much more than that. Upstate New York in particular has wonderful State Parks, hiking trails, many beautiful waterfalls and spectacular displays of fall colors when the trees change.
Mountains which I deeply love :*-) portrayed in a moment when the light was intense nevertheless delicate, colorful but not supersaturated.
The sun was setting and for about 3 minutes the Vajolet Towers (Dolomites) were in this state of grace.
Photo taken 2 minutes after a picture previously posted, titled "Torri del Vajolet".
Comparing the two shots it's possible to see the color evolution during the alpenglow.
As I always do while shooting, I've checked several times in camera the correct white balance, in order to be sure to bring home faithful pictures of the stunning scenery offered by nature.

METRA's newest special paint job, on MP36 402 for the State of Illinois. Here she is seen teamed up with Milwaukee retro 405 as they push train 2143 into Union Station at CP Morgan.
Chicago District Electric Generating Corp. SW1 #3 is switching a cut of hoppers in South Chicago at State Line Generating plant on a gray winter day. The plant has since closed and has been torn down and the fate of this switcher was probably scrap.
These are taken inside the Hungarian State Opera House. I wanted to see the actual theater room, which ought to be the most beautiful in the world, but it was under construction. It didn't say so on the website at the time but I was told when I was about to buy the tickets, inside the place.
So that lady at the counter was like: "ey yo ehhh, you can't see the actual theater, which is being renovated, but instead we have a surprise act, is that okay with you?". You still had to pay top dollar for this so I know I was being scammed but it was raining so where was I gonna go? Me: "yes lady I have no place to go."
So they showed us some pretty interiors from inside the place and at the end they had two opera singers perform for like 15 minutes and I tell you no lie: that was super impressive and well worth to dineros. So yeah, I'm a opera fan now :)
I think I have some footage of it. If I can find it, I will post it.

After a wonderful day's shoot at Keswick, managed to go to the Lowry Theatre for the evening to see the Chinese State Circus in action, great show it was, managed to sneak in the 40D and the 50-135mm F2.8 lens and fired off a few shots, taken at F2.8 and ISO 1600.
I like this one as the couple were flying through the air!
Madison, Wisconsin. This view is from low on the University of Wisconsin's Bascom Hill through the State Street Mall to the Capitol. The dome of the Capitol is the largest granite dome in the world.
The statue atop the state capitol building is named "Wisconsin" and was placed on the capitol dome as a symbol of the state's motto, "Forward." Daniel Chester French, who also created the fabulous Abraham Lincoln statue for the Lincoln Memorial, sculpted "Wisconsin" in 1914 to symbolize the spirit of Wisconsin progress. (Wikipedia)

This is an urban park in the Denver Metro, Roxborough State Park. It has the same cool formations as Garden of the Gods a bit further south, albeit smaller and not quite as dramatic!
