We have a 1000 piece puzzle of the US. Our state of Connecticut takes up just 2 pieces. Not sure the puzzle is to scale but it's shaped like the USA and was a lot of fun to do. HMM!
Another one from Black Hawk Park.
Headed for yet another record day tomorrow. Forecast is for the mid 80's! That's nearly 30 degrees above normal!
Got this dress and it was in a bit of a state, but knowing how valuable it is I have repaired it and am quite proud of the result. Barbie looks adorable in her outfit and her new 'swept' hairdo. Laney :¬)xx
I know this isn't a very exciting photo, but we don't get to see the 'SES' volunteers very often here in Perth. Western Australia.
It's a fantastic volunteer service that helps communities in times of disaster.
A bit on the lines of a. civil defence organisation in times of War.
Only these people help when Mother Nature hits hard. Very necessary these days....
Viento state park was named from the first two letters of the names of three railroad men, Villard, Endicott, and Tollman. By coincidence, viento in spanish means windy. I would rename it " viento y frio"

America's Most Historic Prison
Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia, was once the most famous and expensive prison in the world, but stands today in ruin, a haunting world of crumbling cellblocks and empty guard towers. Its vaulted, sky-lit cells held nearly 85,000 people over its long history, including bank robber "Slick Willie" Sutton and "Scarface" Al Capone.
There are several floors inside the capitol building. The place is filled with artwork and decoration, everywhere you look!

A marriage of state is a diplomatic marriage or union between two members of different nation-states or internally, between two power blocs, usually in authoritarian societies and is a practice which dates back to ancient times, as far back as early Grecian cultures in western society, and of similar antiquity in other civilizations. A Marriage of State often involved surrendering a female member of a ruling line to gain peace or shore up alliances of state between nation-states headed by small oligarchies or acknowledged royalty. -- Courtesy Wikipedia

a few months after the start of the full scale Russian invasion in Ukraine this aircraft operated 2 flights, respectively in April and May picking up all Russian Diplomats out of Belgium and the EU as a direct consequence of breaking all diplomatic lines.
Due to severe overflight restrictions (basically only allowing it to fly over international waters and the country of final destination) this flight from Moscow took over 6,5h flying one way , flying from the east of the baltic states around finland and scandinavia, over the north sea to enter Belgium via the coast which is absolutely not the usual route.

View of the Nebraska State Capitol from the southeast.
Nebraska has had three capitol buildings. The first, built of local limestone, began crumbling as soon as it opened. The second, built around the crumbling building, was much heavier and began sinking into the ground. The third was designed by Bertram Goodhue and was constructed between 1922 and 1932. It is still standing!
We took the land yatch up to Red Bluff for a long weekend of camping...ventured into town twice - once in the daytime and once at night to catch any neon's that might be lit up...sadly, only one...but it still was a fantastic escape from the normal...

Pomponio State Beach (California State Parks):
During my hike late yesterday afternoon along the trail and Gunpowder Falls State Park, I was taking a lot of captures along the river with the 9 Stop ND and stacked on top a thin CPL filter. This allowed for some nice captures in the 6 to 15 second range along the river's edge, and given the leaves were not moving much in the still air worked very well.
Here I was heading deeper into the woods along the trail to get further down the river and liked that sunlight in the trees. I stopped on the trail and composed this shot. Just as I was about to shoot it for 15 seconds, low and behold a breeze kicked in and stirred the leaves. I could have screwed off the 9 stop ND and put the CPL back on ... but is was much easier (being lazy) to adjust the ISO from 100 to 1600 and shorten the shutter to 2 seconds, which was short enough not to show any leaf movement. I also know that the ISO 1600 performance on the 5DMIII sensor would not be an issue.
