This was a stand I made for a BIG 4day craft show in Devon. My work was colourful and shiny and pressformed so like sweets when looked at all together. I made the stands out of scrap wood and the sides out of thin plastic (kind used to make cucumber frames) so I could carry it all easily from the van. The plastic sweet jars I got from a display company, I cut them open and made clear plastic shelves inside them. Sweets sprinkled liberally around. The bunting is photos of my college students who modelled for me, I just printed from my printer straight onto old pillowcase fabric. The stand worked well, I won "best stand" prize...but the sweets got invisibly eaten by passing small children and then finally....ants!
The next display I made was the same cases (painted the same blue as I saw in the chocolate shop in the French Film "Chocolat") but I now have vintage tins cut open as the mini displays, with clear plastic shelves and the lids turned into hinged doors. I'll take a photo of it next time I do a show.
Custer's Last Stand is what we remember most from the Battle of the Little Bighorn. Custer had five companies under his command - 210 men in all. None survived.
With Major Reno's troops on the run, the Native American forces were largely freed up to fall upon Custer. There are multiple theories put forward by historians, archaeologists, Native Americans and military scholars about what happened during Custer's fight. It's likely none are fully accurate.
As with any battle, the eyewitness accounts are sometimes on concert, sometimes at odds. Rarely are they lies, but points of view.
It seems most likely that Custer's command was somehow sent into a retreat, like Reno's. They gathered on what's now known as Last Stand Hill, and were surrounded. Some tried to break out and were killed.
The rest, including Custer, were fallen upon and died fighting. There is some speculation that Custer killed himself, but there's no way to know.

I didn't think my minifigures were getting the attention they deserved sitting in a box, and it was hard for the kids to find their favorites to play with. My solution was to prototype and build my own wall-mounted display case. It's 31" x 31" in size, holds 300 minifigures, and, at 1,515 pieces, weighs 6 pounds empty.
I envision this to be dynamic artwork, showing the 300 most interesting figures at any given time. I didn't want to enclose the display so that the kids could have easy access to any of our population.

These Canadian Geese are large, fairly aggressive and VERY messy birds. We were taking a leisurely stroll in this park on a cool and windy day when she was ordered by 3 geese to stand still for an impromptu inspection.

I actually like this one better than the focused one..
My model stands in her braces that are held apart by (removable) metal rods. These were on this set of appliances when I purchased them. I had to make new rods as they were lost by the previous owner. Whoever needed the braces in the past must have required extreme control of their legs. These braces have been entirely refurbished with all new leather and size 6 heels and also have lower leg length adjusters. These Braces are for sale. This signaled the completion of Canada's first transcontinental railway and fulfilled British Columbia's stipulation for joining Canadian confederation.

After the Culver's binge we went up to the Sonoran Desert Preserve in northern Phoenix, another place Flickr maps doesn't know exists, I loved this place. I liked this location more than I liked the Mountain Preserve I just showed, this one had more cacti and the mountains felt very climbable. I actually went almost to the top of one and back down, here come more spines in the socks!
These cacti are unbelievably tall. From the perspective it's hard to tell, but that cactus is no shorter than 35-40 feet tall. No joke.
