Horse Tower, Mexico City.
Strength and manliness. Sharp and well finished. The Horse Tower is one of the coolest buildings i saw in Mexico. Notice that there is a horse sculpture in the top right corner of the building; it gives a nice match detail with the one on the bottom.
There are four facing buildings on this street intersection, but this one takes all the credit.

At Cape Banks yesterday morning, there was no clouds for a great shoot. To make matter worse, I didnt realise that I lost my lee adaptor ring and shutter release cable. So I had no choice but to try something different.
Daisy wasn't totally off the hook for dinner yesterday. She had to go and pick up the pizza. Oh, but of course! I have seldom opted for delivery since Daisy became full time at home. I mean why shell out for a tip and a delivery charge, when you've got your dedicated errand girl on call? 😜
By the way, you might think she is trying to be a proper lady, eating pizza with a knife and fork like that....but I know better. She just doesn't want to smear her lipstick too much....and have to redo it from scratch. 😉
A bit uneasy situation here when we were being stared down by these cattle. You can see the bulls in front don't look too content with our presence. But they are blocking our way to get out. Fortunately, we were able to make our way through without any incident.

This was a stand I made for a BIG 4day craft show in Devon. My work was colourful and shiny and pressformed so like sweets when looked at all together. I made the stands out of scrap wood and the sides out of thin plastic (kind used to make cucumber frames) so I could carry it all easily from the van. The plastic sweet jars I got from a display company, I cut them open and made clear plastic shelves inside them. Sweets sprinkled liberally around. The bunting is photos of my college students who modelled for me, I just printed from my printer straight onto old pillowcase fabric. The stand worked well, I won "best stand" prize...but the sweets got invisibly eaten by passing small children and then finally....ants!
The next display I made was the same cases (painted the same blue as I saw in the chocolate shop in the French Film "Chocolat") but I now have vintage tins cut open as the mini displays, with clear plastic shelves and the lids turned into hinged doors. I'll take a photo of it next time I do a show.

I had decided to stand on a ridge between 2 fields so I could keep a look out on both when the Kestrel decided to come and hover right by me!
A few weeks back i went to Rasmoni'r ghaat- a fisherman's area at chittagong city outskirts. This merry-go-round was standing alone with a crow.
I didn't think my minifigures were getting the attention they deserved sitting in a box, and it was hard for the kids to find their favorites to play with. My solution was to prototype and build my own wall-mounted display case. It's 31" x 31" in size, holds 300 minifigures, and, at 1,515 pieces, weighs 6 pounds empty.
I envision this to be dynamic artwork, showing the 300 most interesting figures at any given time. I didn't want to enclose the display so that the kids could have easy access to any of our population.

I was one happy girl the day I found this treasure sitting at a car repair shop in SW OKC. The owner told me that it used to advertise his used car lot, but now it just stands guard at the shop.

People stop at a Little Italy gelato stand on a summer evening, Manhattan
Near the end of the year it is my custom to start going back to my raw file archives from the previous year, looking for photographs that I might have overlooked initially. Sometimes I missed them because I was working on other things that caught my attention at the time. In other cases there were simply a lot of photographs, and I moved on to other work before finishing with an earlier set of photographs. I'm starting that project now, so you are likely to see some older work mixed in with more recent photographs over the next few weeks.
We spent a week in New York City in July. (Yes, I know that smart people don't go to New York during the hot and humid summer months. But I do. Draw your now conclusions... ;-) This time we stayed in the general area of Little Italy. That area is a bit of a tourist place, but it is also an interesting place to wander at night. There are lots of light, lots of shops, and lots of people out and about. On this evening I headed out from the hotel just after dark and did a quick loop through the neighborhood with my camera. Here a group of people lines up at a small gelato stand, while someone shops next door and nearby people sit on benches along the sidewalk.
