“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”

I had to visit the dentist yesterday to get an old root canal redone, the dentist was so nice, but I always feel such relief and exhilaration when I am finally out of the chair :) So we got a frappuccino and walked around Terra Nova Park in Richmond. It was very warm but with a nice breeze,

met some crows and some magnificent thistles that were as high as an elephant's eye :)

song, of course :) Burton Cummings live on CBC 1977 :

"Stand Tall" - www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_qgbT7OSuE

It's easy to stand with the crowd, it takes courage to stand alone.

I’ve made a figure stand before, but with packing up my bricks to head back to my dorm, it was time once again to make it (again). This time however, I’ve gotten enough of both the old and new Batman characters to require two separate stands; one with Batman 1 figures and one with 2012 Batman figures. I almost have every old and new version of the characters, with the exception of the old Bane; thus Croc is holding his place on the old character stand. I do have to say as well, that putting them next to each other; I do prefer the old characters to all of their new counterparts.

Great Blue Heron at the side of a pond. I spotted this guy while driving the backroads, an awesome activity to partake in. I stopped to snap photos and he stood tall to make sure that I was on his time!

Masks still aren't compulsory for Covid-19 here in the UK, but they are encouraged in doctor's surgeries and probably hospitals (Tim has a check up next week), so we are showing you our chosen masks that have just arrived! we have two each. I can imagine how uncomfortable it would be wearing them for long periods and we probably won't wear them very often. We've been told there is much less risk of passing anything on when just walking past someone outside in the street, so we'll just carry them with us and put one on when we are inside somewhere. They are more for us to stop giving someone else the virus than to protect us.

What are the rules in your part of the world?

They might not be worn much, but at least we're ready to rob a bank now!!

Don’t know what future these saplings have with Ash dieback spreading in the neighbourhood.

A 1970s Corgi shop display stand which I use to store some plastic toys, as it is a bit too fragile for the weight of diecasts. This image is mainly so I remember what is in it. There are quite a few American and German items as well as English ones and others.

The notes on the image should link to other images of the same vehicle – I sometimes find I need to reload the page before the outlines of the link boxes appear.

This was meant for Looking close...on Friday's "Reflection on a (totally) white background", but I could not get rid of the blue tones. It wanted to be blue. Finally I went the other way and enhanced the blue. So be it!

Just a lame stand I made using my old name tag from Brickfair.

Note: The tile does have my entire name on it, I just edited it out with iPhoto.
