"Stairway to Heaven?" - I love this little ladder that someone has built, when the sun is on the gum trees, it makes for a lovely image.
As a photographer, a common theme I like to find is minimal geometry and patterns in nature or man-made objects.
I humbly present to you the “Geometry” series - geometrical patterns and shapes created by the architecture of Jacksonville, FL. I walk past this building so many times, but one day managed to stand underneath it, and discovered this magic.
The architect is KBJ Architects from Jacksonville, FL, a firm responsible for shaping the incoming Jacksonville skyline we have today.
Upside down. Optical illusion. The black line is actually a water depth gauge sticking out of the water. Moulton Headwaters east of Modesto, California. May5th, 2022.
In the small riverboat towns of the Missouri river, ornate churches just were not the norm. This simple box shaped church was reminiscent of many churches of these bygone times. Taken in my favorite little sleepy town of Brownville Nebraska!
Many thanks for all comments, Faves, Invites and awards.

Rising majestically on the western slopes of Mount Agung, and referred to as the Mother Temple of Hindu Bali, is Pura Besakih, or the Besakih temple, covering a vast area that offers breathtaking mountain scenery surrounding this beautiful and artistic temple complex. This grand temple complex has been revered as a holy place since ancient times. The first recorded mention of its existence comes from an inscription dating back to 1007 AD. It is known that since the 15th century Besakih was regarded as the central temple of Hinduism in Bali.
Far in the distance you can see, if you look, a cloud path winding upward. Or downward if for some reason you found yourself on the clouds and desired to return to earth. Can't think of a good reason to once one has mastered the ability to cloud walk. Image the view.

This one won't take long but it's a lovely place and I want to air it!
When I started editing this picture I had no idea what I wanted to do. I just tried out different options and after I gone wild a bit the picture actually started to look really nice. Than I did the fine stuff and here we go :). Unfortunately its a bit crooked. I already fixed it a bit but no chance to get it better, well for me ;).

- Weil mich die einfach quadratische Treppe im Treppenhaus meiner Firma langweilte, blies ich eine Seele in sie! :-)
- Because the simple quadratic stairs in my company-staircase were boring, I blow a soul in it!
Maybe you call it "adding pizzazz" :-)

I recently read a news story that the Stairway to Heaven is going to be torn down starting this week, and I remembered that a few years ago when my family went on vacation to Oahu, I snuck out alone at night and climbed that famous trail, and it was raining at the base of the mountain, and it was cloudy and glowing on the mountain. My absolute favorite hike of all time, incredible views!
Goodbye, Stairway to Heaven! This is just a photo to commemorate the beautiful encounter that day.

Detail from early 20th century stained glass from St Elvan's parish church, Aberdare. This shows the Old Testament story of Jacob's Ladder - popularly known as the "Stairway to Heaven". It was dedicated in 1911 to Thomas and Anne Wayne. There is a marvellous sense of movement depicted here, with angels descending on the left and rising to heaven on the right.
This passage from Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacob's_Ladder
The description of Jacob's ladder appears in the Book of Genesis (28:11–19):
Jacob left Beersheba, and went toward Haran. He came to the place and stayed there that night, because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones of the place, he put it under his head and lay down in that place to sleep. And he dreamed that there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven; and behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it! And behold, the Lord stood above it [or "beside him"] and said, "I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and to your descendants; and your descendants shall be like the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south; and by you and your descendants shall all the families of the earth bless themselves. Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done that of which I have spoken to you." Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, "Surely the Lord is in this place; and I did not know it." And he was afraid, and said, "This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven."
And from popular culture... Led Zeppelin's version:
Theres a lady whos sure
All that glitters is gold
And shes buying a stairway to heaven.
When she gets there she knows
If the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for.
Ooh, ooh, and shes buying a stairway to heaven.
