The heavens opened up, on reaching the Royal Pagoda in Ratchapruek Park, Chiang Mai. It was kind of amazing, but could only be enjoyed for a few moments.
The steps lined by the terracotta pots filled with the geraniums and below the bunches of grapes. The window boxes and shutters surrounded by flowers, enhances the rustic effect of the walls and signage.

At least on a staircase you can up or down and choose your own pace of progress.

Stairway to heaven.
Taken from the pier at Cromer, Norfolk, England looking back at the ramps leading up from the sea to the town with Cromer church in the background.
I guess I've got that song in my head now from my previous image :)
I love architecture - old and new. The more unusual, the better. I went downtown yesterday and shot a few buildings, so you'll be seeing quite a lot of architectural images on here in the next while. This is The Alberni, designed by renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma - I did post an image of it before, but it wasn't completed yet. Now it is. I will be posting a couple of different angles of it, as it's different on each side. The day went from rain, to sun, to cloudy, so a bit of everything. My baseball cap did fall off a couple of times with me looking so far up :)
I'm very lucky. My sherpa/chauffeur drives me to each address, and waits in a loading zone while I get out and shoot the building, then off to the next :)
If you're interested in seeing the entire building, and info on it, here's a link: westbankcorp.com/body-of-work/alberni-by-kuma

I feel like I nailed it but you be the judge. The sign is the comet.

Amazing sculpture!
It's midweek....not long now before the weekend.
Happy Wednesday!
"And as we wind on down the road our shadows taller than our soul. There walks a lady we all know who shines white light and wants to show how everything still turns to gold. And if you listen very hard the tune will come to you at last. When all are one and one is all to be a rock and not to roll. And she's buying a stairway to heaven." Led Zeppelin
When I saw these stairs, I knew what it had to be immediately.
Within Arne nature reserve in southern England, an impressive show of large shelf fungi on this dead (but still standing) tall tree.
Could this be a beech tree and these Ganoderma sp. fungi.
I estimate each one was 30 cm or so in diameter.
