House finch posing nicely for me in the spring colored bokeh :))
A pretty day today in Maryland, pretty much picture perfect spring day! Mostly yard work was accomplished, but did get to snap a few nice images.
Last weekend's drive to Bath County, Virginia, included a stop at the recently restored Warm Springs Pools. The natural, mineral-rich warm springs have been used for centuries for visitors to "take the waters." The original stone basin of the present Gentlemen's Bathhouse was built in 1761, with the building dating to the 1820s. The 22-sided Ladies' Bathhouse, shown in this photo, dates to the 1870s. Visitors check in at the Reception House, on the right in the photo. The pools are owned by the Omni Homestead Resort, in nearby Hot Springs, and they reopened in December 2022 after being closed several years for renovation. This was my first visit to "take the waters" following the restoration. Information from a brochure at the pools.

A day before spring and the wild narcissi are in full blossom. I protrait these little flowers now year after year in early spring and each year they fascinate me when I see them in bright morning light under an old pine... Welcome to spring!
As nature begins a it's journey, let take a moment to reflect on the simple pleasures that surround us.

Hoe while it is spring, and enjoy the best anticipations. It is not much matter if things do not turn out well. ~Charles Dudley Warner
Running Springs is a set of two springs along the Suwannee River between Mayo and Branford. It's easily one of the best sights along the spring-packed river.
Those beautiful spring mornings when to play with bokeh and light.

Yesterday I enjoyed the day with my parents. It was a beautiful but a bit cold spring dat. Had a lot of fun with my (a bit neglected) EF 28mm f/1.8 lens at full aperture. Here's a Service Berry bush (Amelanchier) enjoying late afternoon sun.
I used NIK Color Efex Pro to emulate Agfa Optima 400, to get the strong colors and contrast. And grain.
(The timestamp was still on Australian time if anyone wonders. Fixed now :))

Green Spring in Deltona, Florida is located just near the north shore of Lake Monroe on the St. Johns River. The highlight of the park is the wonderful and mysterious Green Spring, but visitors should not miss the trail system which gives a prime view into the palm hammocks and woods which dominate the floodplains and springs of Central Florida.
Green Springs Park is near the historic area of Enterprise, which was once an important rail depot that helped to serve Florida's developing east coast as well as a steamboat port along the St. Johns, a water highway leading into Central Florida whose navigable areas end on Lake Monroe. The park is joined to nearby Gemini Springs Park by a multi-use trail called the Spring-to-Spring Trail.
