Not long ago this field was under water, its amazing how quickly nature recovers. I have tried to produce a soft, warm spring-like feel with the processing.......

I went to a fertile floodplain along the Lamprey River today and found a ton of different wildflowers. Trout lillies, anemones, wild oats, trillium, violets, and these...spring beauty. They always live up to their name!

Se hai il coraggio di guardare la luce, imita la primavera e vai avanti verso di essa.

If you have the courage to look at the light, mimics the spring and go forward towards it.

Hasel-Kätzchen in der Abendsonne

Taken on the first sunny day this spring and what a wonderful day it was. A couple of days later it was so windy, all the top heavy tulips fell, my wife was so distraught.

I think these are pear blossoms

Easter Monday in Ironbridge, spring has at last arrived.

spring is everywhere...

Yes I know, I photographed my big fish tree before but with the awesome weather (and the beginning of Spring!) we had the last couple of days I just had to give a go at shooting it in infrared!

For once I feel like I managed to get the white balance right too and I never had to do so little pp work on an infrared shot, which is a real relief as they are normally tedious especially when colour is kept... slowly getting there I hope!

Welcome to spring and all the newness this season brings. It's warmth, colour and a breath of fresh air. It's little buds and birds chirping. All life crawls out of hibernation and our hearts open. Wish you all a very happy spring.

Even though I always resent losing that hour, it's nice to finally leave work and it's still light.

Enchanted Spring

My obsession with moss draped vine maples hit a crescendo this past weekend while out shooting with Jeremy Cram, Scott Miller, Paul Bowman, and Brian “Happy Meal” Kibbons. We explored a hard to reach little corner of the Gorge and walked a cold creek for better part of three hours before I noticed this grove of vine maples. That’s when a bit of serendipity struck as the sun poked through mostly cloudy skies for a few brief minutes, allowing me to frame these vine maples around a huge sun star. I’ve shot the Gorge a lot over the past several years and I continue to enjoy creating images of creeks and falls. However, what has been really exciting me recently is shooting these more lush, intimate forest scenes. Hope you all enjoy this one!
