In these days of physical distancing all my photos are taken on my own property. A long lens really comes in handy.
A little lady sparrow in my front bushes. The pink in the background is caused from a neighbours barbary bushes in the distance.
At last spring arrived. After a long and dark winter it's always such a relief to be surrounded by colours and light again. I just love to sniff the freshness of nature and enjoy to watch the busy birds and the colorful flowers in bloom...
I'm wishing you the best spring ever!

Some spring bokeh since it's Wednesday. Hope you have a great one!
Gently processed with Flypaper textures.
Edited to say that there's now a before after and recipe on the Flypaper Blog.
Engelse springer spaniel, Flint. Always alert to flushing and retrieving game.
The English Springer Spaniel is a breed of gun dog used for flushing and retrieving game. This springer is a good and healthy example of a working line (UK) It is closely related to the English Cocker Spaniel. I've seen them used as sniffer dogs and it's interesting to see that the way they work is very similar to hunting.

Table Rock, Linville Gorge, NC
I'm enjoying looking back on some spring images now that we're in the doldrums of summer. This one was from a couple of years ago. Hawksbill mountain can be seen in the distance over the Carolina Rhododendron.
It was nice to see blue skies on this second day of Spring...

I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed and gazed but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
(by William Wordsworth)
Whenever they bloom, I remember my high school days. My English teacher loved daffodils very much and everyone in the class had to learn to recite this poem.
I have fewer of them this year than usual, the strong March frosts have damaged them a lot.
