Thanks to Aaron Yeoman for providing the information about the location of this wonderful spiral staircase via his excellent blog.

The 7-storey staircase is to be found in the Premier Inn Hotel not far from Blackfriars Station and Blackfriars Bridge.
A non-HDR composition.
On the occasion of today's MM topic I had an idea. One of my favorite photos, a memory of a nice evening, edit as a spiral. Tomorrow I'll post the original.
Thanks for the visit, much appreciated!
Macro of a CFL in the lamp in our second bedroom. I thought about wiping away the dust and decided against it. Two interesting thoughts. First, CFLs are now becoming obsolete as a result of LED lamps which are even more energy efficient. Compared to incandescent bulbs, the amount of energy that is saved is enormous. Second, the dust tells another tale of ecology and public health. Our place is regularly cleaned but the air obviously still contains a lot of particulate matter. Each breath challenges our lungs and immune systems. And today, add in the possible aerosols containing SARS-CoV-2; not a problem here, but just another challenge for us. Sorry, this is just the public health person in me coming out. HMM!

I am so glad I signed up for this 31 photo challenge. It has been a very difficult week as my 88 year old mother had a car accident (a beautiful stag ran into her) and has been in hospital. It was an awful shock and trauma for her but a cracked sternum and bruising were her only physical injuries which was amazing. She is now recuperating in a local nursing home. Making myself take my camera out each day despite what has been going on, with visits and trying to organise a care home, has been so calming for me and I find myself taking far more than just the one photo.
This is a spiral formed by a cyclamen plant in the garden.

A more classic spiral staircase today, and this one is from the Australian High Commission in London.
Australia House sits on The Strand and is the longest continuously occupied diplomatic mission in the United Kingdom. It was opened in 1918 by King George V, and I visited here during last year's Open House event.
For me, there were two reasons to visit here, the first being its two stunning spiral staircases, and also the fact that this building was J.K. Rowling's inspiration for Gringott's Bank in the Harry Potter books, being a fan I couldn't pass up a chance to visit the "real" Gringotts!
