I was sitting watching TV last night and saw some scrapbooks with spiral bindings on them. I tried a few different ideas before coming up with what you see here. The goal was to highlight the binding, while letting a bit of light spill onto the cover and keeping any light from hitting the background. In the end, it worked pretty well.
The early morning view from the spiral parking structure in downtown Fresno, looking north with the Hotel Californian on the left.
This necklace is a spiral rope and I beaded in little copper leaves. Finished the whole thing off with a copper leaf clasp and a little acorn so you could wear this necklace with the clasp in the front or back depending on what you wanted.
Day 75/365: Spirals
This spiral staircase in the US Supreme Court building is completely self supporting. Unfortunately, this is the only view allowed to a visitor, or I could have spent all day photographing it. As it was, our venture into the Supreme Court building was completely by accident since we were really trying to find the Library of Congress. There is however, a fantastic tribute to Sandra Day O'Connor in this building, she is the very first female Supreme Court judge.

Robert Smithson's monumental earthwork Spiral Jetty is located on the Great Salt Lake at Rozel Point in Utah. This iconic earthwork was built in April 1970. Using black basalt rocks and earth from the site, the artist created a coil 1,500 feet long and 15 feet wide that stretches out counter-clockwise into the translucent red water. The unique relationship of the Jetty to its location features the effects on the work of both the lake’s continually changing water levels and the lake’s abundance of red algae, which gives the water its color.
This very dusty, type-Sc spiral galaxy appears as a loose conglomeration of material, with few apparent HII regions or star clusters. There is little evidence of spiral formation and no evidence of a central bulge or nucleus.

Downward view of a spiral staircase with ornate wrought-iron railings and polished wooden handrails. The stone steps are aged, and the floors feature classic, geometric patterned tiles. The perspective highlights the staircase's intricate design as it spirals downwards.
If you look closely enough, you may be able to see the shape of the "infinity" symbol, hence the title.
