Thanks to the Sedge Warbler that perched and posed for me on the reeds in this spectacular light and the usually annoying midges in the background creating beautiful specular highlights.
Archibebe oscuro ( Tringa erythropus) en plena muda al plumaje de cría. Desde mi punto de vista, uno de los limícolas con un cambio de plumaje más espectacular y menos conocido.

Spotted redshank (Tringa erythropus) in full moult to brood plumage. From my point of view, one of the waders with a more spectacular and less known plumage change.

Another overlong break from posting on flickr, but had to find time to post my current desktop background.
Having a child is sapping my photography because all I have to take pictures of is my son and other children - looking forward to my upcoming assignment to take the photos at my friends' wedding next month!
Spectacular Sky & Sea Splitting Sunset Seaside Scene - IMRAN™
It is incredible how quickly time and life fly. I have not posted anything from my laptop since late August. That is when I finally made it back to New York for the first time after nearly 18-months of staying in Florida during the pandemic.
It was great to be back in my forever-American-hometown, Manhattan, New York City for an annual reunion with my childhood friends. We had skipped last year's meetup because of the much worse and uncertain pandemic situation then. Now we were all fully vaccinated, and still fully masked when near others or for appropriate situations.
I also made it to my blessed Long Island home for the first time m that period too. I am so blessed both my Florida and my New York homes survived Hurricane Herni and Hurricane Irma in quick succession respectively.
I honestly did not get a chance to do 10% of what I thought I would get done during my New York homestay. But the beautiful beloved girl who took up my time during those days now owes me a week-long visit to ensure I catch up on my tasks there. LOL. But, no, I am not complaining.
Back home in Apollo Beach this week, I only managed to take out my drone for a quick sunset flight tonight. Summer is still here, but it is right after the Labor Day weekend. This is an HDR (high dynamic range) photo from two regular photos. They were taken with the 5-years old DJI Phantom 4 drone.
I found it interesting how the sharply cut-off low clouds over the Saint Petersberg horizon make the right one-third of the sea (or Tampa Bay water in this case) appear such a different color than the left. Enjoy this moment of gratitude with me at Maghreb prayers time.

The small settlement of Pukerua Bay is about 50 miles north-west of Wellington New Zealand. The Track which runs along the rugged coastline from the southern end of the Bay has signage which warns people diving illegally for Paua (A seafood delicacy) that NZ Government Fisheries Protection Officers regularly patrol the coastline...
As I proceeded along the track, I didn't see any Divers, and I didn't I see any Fisheries Protection Officers, but...
After about two kilometres, the Track appeared to come to a sudden halt when it reached this large outcrop of rocks, for a high fence seemed to block any further progress. I kid you not... the unspoken Message was "STOP!"
So, I stopped...!
I stopped, not just because of the fence (though that was a good enough reason to turn around), but because right at that moment, I had the distinct feeling that someone or something was watching me - and whoever or whatever it was, they weren't very far away...!
i have many different kinds of photographs in my gallery, but somehow this little macro photograph is my favourite.
Added to the Cream of the Crop pool as most interesting.

Chrysanthemum: the big blooms are often duo toned, collectively known as kotengiku or antique chrysanthemums.
However, this looks like a new variety, NEVER saw these before.
Have a blooming time, filled with love and beauty, M, (*_*)

One of the many pleasures of being on top of Reigate Hill in Surrey is that you can look down on the rest of the world – not least this glorious tree canopy, rich with vibrant autumn colours.
The Hill elevation is 771 feet (235m) and the entire area is cared for and administered by the National Trust.
Here's one from a couple months ago, on a fantastic morning of shooting in Bryce Canyon. After a couple days of snow, clouds, and no light, this morning the sun finally came out and it was amazing.
The powerful wave action of the Pacific Ocean at Depoe Bay is so spectacular. When the big ones crash the sound is like thunder and a large splash of water can reach the road. Caution not to get close to them is best for safety. Here at Depoe Bay a young man lost his life a couple years ago when he was swept into the sea, his body was not recovered.
A quick trip to the New Hope Railroad to get some fresh air on this dreary Sunday after Thanksgiving...
New Hope 2-8-0 #40 looks and sounds fantastic as it pulls one of the railroad's North Pole Express trains towards Lower Mountain Road.

Not only was this just a relaxing day but we had sun all day again. After taking a drive to see the Snowy Owls in the farm fields south of us, we were treated to this wonderful sunset on our drive home. It brought hope for longer daylight hours and more sunny days.

The spectacular Chestnut-Colored Woodpecker (Celeus castaneus) occurs from southern Mexico to extreme northwestern Panama. I have to say, this is the most beautiful woodpecker and possibly the most beautiful bird I have ever seen. This is a medium sized crested Woodpecker, 8.5 inches (21.5–24 cm) long and weighs 2.8–3.7 oz (80–105 gm). Overall, as you can see, the bird is bright chestnut-brown. The crest is a paler light rufous-brown, the underparts and back have extensive black chevron-shaped scaling. The male has a red patch on the cheeks that extends around the eyes. The female lacks the red cheek patch. The wing-tips and tail are black. The Chestnut-Colored Woodpecker primarily feeds on ants and termites. Less commonly, it also consumes fruit although the ones I saw did not approach the feeder with bananas.

Is there anything more overwhelming than standing under one of these dramatic, epic skies?
It fills me with awe, always has, always will.
A tiny something in your photo, like a boats light, a radar tower or a pylon?
Needs nothing more to feel the magnitude!
Have a lovely day and thank you for viewing, M, (*_*)

The spectacular whale-back ridge of Suilven hidden from view.
My dog Bert and I spent a couple of days walking in Assynt, mainly around Suilven. It was a rather memorable walk.
Midge attacks, knee deep bog, disappointing weather followed by the most amazing light I have seen in a long time.....
Stay tuned.
