BR 9F 2-10-0 - with high-capacity tender - on a train of BR Cemflo bulk cement wagons at Ganwick, on the East Coast Main Line, in the early-1960s.
The Cemflo wagons first entered service in 1961, and lasted in service until the 1980s.
The last 9F was withdrawn in mid-1968, and nine examples have been preserved, but not all of these have been restored..
Today (2021) the tracks here are all electrified, and there is a communications mast next to the nearest one.
Restored from an unfocussed grainy orange/cyan-colour-shifted original..

The HSS Ceyda is a moderately sized, but fully equipped hospital spaceship (HSS). Once built by the Lego Space Federation to help out in the Great Blacktron War, it now mainly goes on humanitarian missions, traveling from system to system to offer medical services wherever she can. It is equipped with an emergency room, surgery room, sterilization room, radiological services (including CT), rehabilitation center, doctor's office, dentist office, optometry office, laboratory, pharmacy, wards, cafeteria, 10 escape pods, and more. Space travelers can park their small ships in the parking hangar and either submit themselves into the hospital or visit patients. Or, when a distress signal is received nearby, an ambulance shuttle is dispatched to go and bring potential patients back to the hospital. There are tools on the ambulance landing pad to service the vehicle, but for more extensive repairs, the ambulance can enter the cargo and repair bay in the back. Of course, there is also a large bridge as well as a lounge and quarters for the captain and crew. The ship has no weapons, but it has an extra powerful shield generator to protect its passengers. Attacking the HSS Ceyda is considered a war crime by the Space Police.
This is my first SHIP and my entry for this year's SHIPtember. It is 147 studs long and features a full interior which can be removed like drawers or accessed through a removable roof. This ship is an idea that I have had for over 10 years now and I am so excited to finally have realized it. I will share detailed pictures of the interior soon, so stay tuned!
This build is dedicated to all the brave medical professionals that have worked so hard this year to keep us all safe, including my awesome sister who is a D.O. and who this ship is named after. It serves as a reminder that as long as we have heroes like them and we listen to them, we can make it through this difficult time and survive into the far future where such a spaceship could be a reality.
The Reckless is a Frontline Supply Ship designed for fast cargo delivery in fleet combat situations. It is named after a decorated veteran war horse who tirelessly delivered supplies and wounded to and from the frontline in a long-forgotten dispute on Earth. Much like it’s namesake this ship has supplied Confederacy ships in countless skirmishes over the years.
It relies mostly on a large shield generator that gives it protection from stray missiles and projectiles. A medium tungsten blaster turret can also be deployed against incoming attacks. The Reckless houses several small cargo drones that quickly delivers crates to and from allied ships. It delivers its cargo and blasts off to safety again, mostly it won’t be in danger from attacking vessels more than 10-20 minutes.

This SHIP was built during one month for SHIPtember 2023. It is designed around the 2635 Crane Support Element. I made a sketch first and then I started building. I’ve had a lot of help and input from my fellow AFOL SHIP-builders on Discord. Thank you so much!
2013 was the first year I participated in SHIPtember, so this is my ten year anniversary! 😃
I finally managed to take some photos of this creation. It has been sitting on my shelf for a while, but I guess it was good, as I kept adding some extra details from time to time.
This build was also a good excuse to finally use those tons of dark orange 2x2 plates I bought impulsively from BL. ;D
Oh, and the engines in the spaceship light up!
Make sure to check out the other photos.
Enjoy! :)
A couple of months ago, young Xavier built an X-Wing. During his trip in a galaxy far, far away, an alien snuck into his ship. Since then, Xavier and his family can’t sleep because the alien goes bump in the night.
Ready to risk it all for the safety of his family, Xavier’s dad took matters into his own hands. A land mower motor, old planks, solar panels, Duck tape and a YouTube tutorial later, he had a spaceship in his backyard. Now he waits finger crossed, hoping the creature will fall in his trap…
Today’s shot is another go at Spaceship Earth with my newest lens acquisition, the Rokinon 12mm fisheye. I tried not to overdo it and shoot everything with the fisheye. It’s hard once you get started to not just shoot everything with it, but I must remind myself it really only works in some situations and I shouldn’t try to force it. The area around Spaceship Earth is one of those areas you can use it with some crazy angles for some cool results.
Yesterday my two year old grandson called my Hospice hospital bed a spaceship. It was life changing! It's so much more fun to live on a spaceship!!!

This fantastic little storm was not the one we were targeting, but when a line of storms to the north merged into a bit of a mess, we started following this one around sunset and what a beauty it turned out to be.
In May/June 2024 I went storm chasing for the third time. If you'd like, you can read about my trip in the blog post on my website.
You can see all my storm chasing images from my 2017, 2018 and 2024 chases in this album.
Eighth build in my Iron Builder dogfight with Kyubi.
Special ingredient is some sort of micro ball joint combo action.
If you've seen my posts before you will know this is the first time a castle has ever graced my photostream. Lately I've been feeling a bit one dimensional with my builds only being space and wanted to try something different. I've been having a blast building this and hope to be done soon, but wanted to post this now just in case life gets in the way.
This is a viewing structure on the banks of the Thames in Woolwich in London, I was looking skywards with the sun coming through one of the slits, looks like the outside of a spaceship!

The past weekend I extended a business trip to include a couple days in the parks. It was good to see Don and Susan & Bill.
This is version 2.0 of Spaceship Tensegrity. Most of the changes have to do with the base to hold it all up, and it allow for the strings to be quickly and easily adjusted.
Also, after various feedback about the use of the legs as a core part, The pilot has been swapped to "Where are my Pants" Guy. 'Cos you gotta embrace these things right :D
I might take it further, but for now, I'm calling it done.
