3nd version of Benny Spaceship
Halalala ! I was in the sights of the Space Classic defense league because he 3 colors (yellow, black, yellow) were reversed and it was missing the logo "Space Classic"
So I re-modified Benny's space ship... Now the error is repaired, here I am in rule with the law ^_^

The millennium falcon is still the coolest spaceship in the galaxy! This is why I have always wanted to build my own version! Inspired by Mikes, WIP-images, I was encouraged to start my own project.
It took me a whole year to accomplish this build (including planning and collecting bricks). Net building time 240 hours.
My main goal was to present the model in a flying position, which was a huge task. Due to its internal framework it was not possible to include an interior, but I was able to fully lighten the model. And there was still enough space left to include a detailed cockpit (with 4 seats), gunner’s platform and a lowering ramp. Credits to EB member ScottishDave for his original design of the radar dish.
Measuring: 82 cm x 54 cm x 18 cm
Weight: approx. 9.2 kg
Parts count: approx. 7500 pieces
I am proud how this creation came together – I hope you like it as well.
Thanks MB
I know it's a little early to think about Shiptember. But here I am, with Classic Space on my mind.
Let's see where it goes :D
No-name "APS" 35mm f/1.6 CCTV lens @ f/1.6
Thanks everyone for your visits, faves and comments, they are always appreciated :)
No Monorail Monday for me, because it was too dark, but I'll always make an excuse to post a picture of Spaceship Earth!
In the first scene of Star Wars, we see a small spaceship pursued by a much larger monolithic star cruiser which keeps coming and coming and coming. When I look up at the enormous buildings in London today and flip the image upside down, they remind me of these star cruisers...
In many hours i got now ready my first instrucions in pdf format...
In 676 pages you can follow over 1900 steps to build this ship.

During our visit to EPCOT, I wanted to get some sunset shots of Spaceship Earth before setting up for Illuminations. So as the sun started to set I grabbed a few shots. He is a fisheye shot from the fountain in front of Spaceship Earth.
In an effort to try new things and challenge myself, I tried out Image Stacking method to try and reduce the amount of people in a day shot. On this trip I didn't bring a tripod so I couldn't use an ND Filter. I ended up taking 5 photos over the course of 2 or 3 minutes and used the Median method in Photoshop. This yielded a somewhat decent result although there was ghosting like you'd see in a night or long expsoure shot so I wasn't too thrilled with the outcome.
I ended up just putting all 5 photos in one document as layers and masking out the parts where there were people near the lens. The farther away people were really hard as those were never clean areas so that is something I need to look out for in the future. But in the end I like the outcome as it provides a way of seeing Spaceship Earth without being too cluttered up front.

Spaceship Earth Lemons
This is another shot I have done previously but always with my Nikon 14-24 2.8 at F2.8. Since I had the Nikon 35 1.4 for this trip I had to give it another go for two reasons. First of course is that bokeh at 1.4 and second the 35mm field of view that brings Spaceship Earth a little closer and makes it appear larger in the frame. I used my Grizzly Camera Medium Bean-Bag to get the camera slightly off the ground and get just the right angle so that I could get the entirety of Spaceship Earth in frame. I shot a couple frames at F1.4 to get the bokeh and then shot another series at F8 focusing on the background. I blended these two shots together so in the foreground, I have the cool looking bokeh of the fiber optic lights at F1.4 and the background is tack sharp from the shot at F8. I don't know about you but now I think I want some lemonade.

This was taken towards the very beginning of my chasing light journey at Epcot which had me going all around the park trying to get as many shots as I could in the time just before, during and immediately after the golden hour. I figured the best way to do it was to start at the front of the park where I could shoot into the sun still just over the trees for some cool sunbursts before making my way into Future World and then onto the World Showcase.
There's not really a lot to this one. I didn't want to just shoot a bunch of leveled shots (though I have some of those too) so while there was still enough light to comfortably shoot what I wanted handheld I wandered around Spaceship Earth looking for some cool ways to photograph it using angles. In my opinion it's really not all that hard as the structure actually lends itself nicely to some creative angles. Here I'm using the struts holding Spaceship Earth up to lead from the corner into the frame.
This was a 3 shot handheld bracket but I only used 2 for my blend. One was perfect for everything but the very bright light in the corner from the sun so I used a luminosity mask to blend in from the underexposure to expand the range and get rid of the blown out areas. Enjoy.

I spent a good chunk of today building; and, something I've been trying to build more of into my MOCs are those little photo moments. Not just cute story moments, but clear view-lines to allow for those little picture moments, So this is me taking a few moments to practice that at the end of the build.(Well for now, because a MOC is never finished right?)
Anyway, more shotes tomorrow, and it'll be on display at Bendigo Bricks this weekend. Hope to see you there.
I have done it, a new spaceship! Moving cockpit, a small engine bay and a loading bay in the back!In space, the nose points straight forward and a large antenna dish can be deployed for long distance communication.
My main goal was to use a larger and brand new trans yellow canopy piece and still remain in classic space style...
All in all, the ship turned out bigger than I wanted. I wanted a room for 2 person wide rover (minimal 5 studs), I wanted an engine bay, and the moving nose. 'Playability' at came at a cost design wise.
I will probably also try a smaller ship, more aimed at shape and design, with less functionality.
