Day 135/365

"Alien Spaceship"

Its just the idea of visiting Alien Spaceship....ohh noooo its my washing machine :p

Strobist Info: 580EX II with green gel pointed at the bottom of the washing machine in TTL mode.

Triggered via PocketWizard Flex TT5

The "O" is taking a ride on the back of sort of a mother ship!

See if this new (to me) part technic panel works.

I was in the mood for some Photoshopping.

An organic entity found wounded and close to death, the BR4-1N was grafted into a spaceship to ensure her survival. She now serves as part of the fleet using her superior intellect to strategise attack patterns before relaying them to the other fighters.

This is the 3rd ship in my fleet of Neo Classic Space inspired attack craft.

SpaceShip Earth at night - I figured I would give the lighted sidewalk a try with Spaceship Earth in the background - we always love to watch the dancing lights of the sidewalk as we leave EPCOT at night and I always wanted to get a great photo of them. shot with a 8mm bower fisheye

3 exposure photomatix. Shot with fish. The comments have made me change the title. It really does look like a halloween shot. Gloomy clouds and a lot of orange.

They say the devil is in the detail. This shot is a detail of some of the over 11,000 tiles that cover Spaceship Earth. When you look at this image full size (by pressing L), you'll notice that the tiles do not butt up against each other. There is a one inch gap between tiles that allows rain water to be gathered so that when it rains, the water does not run off the sides onto visitors (again, leave it to Disney to think of all the details).

This is a three shot HDR combined in Photomatix Pro and finished in Lr3.

Press L to see it full size (and see those one inch gaps).

Press F if you like it!

Had another couple of plays with the Pluto trigger and water dropper that arrived in the mail yesterday. Starting to play around with all the variables both with lighting, colours and the Pluto droplet variables.

One more creation, a Lego Spaceship!

The Art and Science Exhibition Part III consists of a scientific educational part showing some of the most beautiful satellite images of the Earth, curated by ESA, along with some interactive terminals providing the scientific background information. Several examples of artistic works with satellite imaging and historical references to the field comprise the second part of this exhibition.

This satellite image is also part of the Spaceship Earth Exhibition (2015) at Ars Electronica Center, Linz.

A Monk transcribing works in the monastery diorama.

"As we continue our journey, we enter a scriptorium. Literally translated, scriptorium means "a place for writing" and they were found in medieval European monasteries. Here we see monks toiling endlessly to keep up with the ever growing demand for books".

Spaceship Earth

Epcot

It's a tough call for me as to whether Spaceship Earth or the American Adventure are my favorite attractions in all of Walt Disney World. I lean towards Spaceship Earth because there's nothing really like it in any Disney Park the world over. Attractions like Horizons and World of Motion may have had a similar appeal to me, but I never had a chance to experience them that I can remember. The way I see it, SSE represents the last remaining bit of that optimism that so well defined Tomorrowland and Future World at their prime.

The expanded and upgraded UNSC "Excalibur" Class Heavy Cruiser has four of the new Blacklight Engines and a XXXXX Super Blacklight engine. It took 1h 20m to render the rear view because of the trans-red parts. Just a story I made up after doing a modification of K.S.s Cruiser

Epcot - Walt Disney World

A view and narrative from Epcot's Spaceship Earth attraction.

"Much of recorded history was lost when Rome falls and the Library of Alexandria burns".

"Fortunately, copies of many of these books and manuscripts were also kept in Middle Eastern libraries. To the right side of our vehicle we see Islamic scholars from various cultures discussing science, astronomy, medicine, and art. Standing on the observation tower is an astronomer with a quadrant probing the secrets of the heavens. And to the left we see a Jewish wise man studying in a great library".
