In the first scene of Star Wars, we see a small spaceship pursued by a much larger monolithic star cruiser which keeps coming and coming and coming. When I look up at the enormous buildings in London today and flip the image upside down, they remind me of these star cruisers...

I was playing with the Canon 8mm Fisheye from www.KingdomCameraRentals.com and took this shot of Spaceship Earth from underneath. Yes, I was laying down on the ground.
On June 23rd 2347 the Research Spaceship (RSS) ”Pale Blue Dot“ became the first human spaceship to enter hyperspace and achieve Faster-than-Light (FTL) travel.

"Where have we come from, where are we going?
The answers begin in our past.
In the dust from which we were formed, answers recorded on the walls of time.
So let us journey into that past, to seek those walls, to know ourselves and to probe the destiny of our Spaceship Earth." - SSE naration Version 1 (1982 - 1986)

Trying to sink as many of those large silver parts into a ship as possible to get shapes. I wasn't overly concerned with having all the geometry match up exactly which carries throughout the design. Was also trying to get some levels/depth. In the end I think it's overdone.
Also an ode to nnenn though not technically a Vic Viper, certainly he was in my thoughts while building it.
I noticed it looks a bit small in the pic though it's about 85 studs long. Need another photo session I guess.
Actually it's not a Spaceship or Stargate, It is made on Planet Earth,
but it looks like so !
With two strong flashlights and blue foil on a tripod I lit the sculpture from the inside, the surrounding headlights do the rest (maybe I should cover them next time more), edited in LR.
this is the view from a parking at the base but when I have turn it, it directly remind me some SF movies like Star Wars!! just imagine a spaceship flying to the light!!

Abbreviated SSE, the Spaceship Earth attraction takes people through human achievement starting with prehistoric times and going up to the 21st century. The attraction takes place in a giant geodesic sphere which according to Wikipedia is a pentakis dodecahedron. The geodesic sphere greats visitors when they first enter the park and can be seen from many places all over the park (as you will see).
HDR from three exposures (0, -2, +2).
I got very lucky (with some patience) and was able to get a shot of Spaceship Earth during a Fountain of Nations show, with nobody in frame. I wish the timing could have coencided with some of the taller bursts of water, but danggit I'm pretty darn happy with this shot. In fact, it's the new lock screen on my iPhone!

When my dad was building his Shiptember spaceship, I was hanging out with him in his LEGO room and built this entire space faction. I built a Spaceship, a fleet of 5 smaller ships, a Mech Suit and a Space Base.
This is the Mansueto Library at the University of Chicago Campus. It's a rather unique approach to a library considering most libraries don't look like spaceships. This is another shot that I took while strolling the campus with Frankel.
Enjoy your day off! Well, anyways in the US.
Blacktron II spaceship. This one was built for Roztoky exhibition for M:Tron vs Blacktron battle diorama.
Ship is supposed to bring supplies, ammo and units to battlefield.

Spaceship Earth
Epcot - Walt Disney World
Orlando, FL
"But will these seemingly infinite communications become a flood of electronic babble? Or will we use this power to usher in a new age of understanding and cooperation on this... our Spaceship Earth?"
Spaceship Earth, 1994 Jeremy Irons narration
This is a very classic shot that's been done many times before, but after watching last night's reboot of COSMOS, I'm in a very classic EPCOT Center mood. I had seen promos for COSMOS before and had gotten a very EPCOT Center-y vibe from it, but last night's premiere blew me away. It was the perfect mix of education, entertainment, awe, wonder, inspiration, and hopeful optimism that EPCOT Center used to instill, and it made me realize how much I miss it.
Many people would argue that the EPCOT Center that so many of us found so inspirational - from 1982 to roughly 1994 or maybe a little later - is gone forever and that any fondness for today's Epcot is misplaced and driven purely by nostalgia. I won't deny that Future World is a far cry from what it could be, should be, and was originally intended to be, but I refuse to give up hope that the spirit of the EPCOT Center I grew up with could someday return.
I sometimes wonder if today's Disney executives truly appreciate how meaningful EPCOT Center was in so many childhoods, and how successful that approach could be again today if given the chance. For me, this is very personal, as my love of information science and technology (which is also my career field) is something that I attribute directly to EPCOT Center's influence on me at a young age.
One can keep hoping that EPCOT Center will one day return to its mission and vision of entertaining while educating, of inspiring wonder, hope, awe, and optimism. In the meantime, I invite you to check out COSMOS if you haven't already. EPCOT Center vibe aside, it's an incredibly well-made show that's not only informative but very entertaining. It airs again tonight on National Geographic at 10pm ET!
Thanks for your views, favs, and comments! Constructive criticism is always more than welcome!

Shinko Circle Walk (circular footbridge) in Minato Mirai 21 in Yokohama-shi. It looks like a big spaceship!
A microscale build of the Spaceship Victory from 승리호 (SPACE SWEEPERS).
I started on this project almost immediately after the movie released internationally, and displayed it in August 2021 at BrickFair Virginia.
At the time I started building this, the only available reference for the ship were screenshots, so I opted to leave out the transformation between its two configurations. Now that better images of the ship are available online... I would probably still build it the same way because the reconfiguration system for the engines is absurd.
Now more than ever, we need to use our gift of intellect and science to preserve our home planet, a pale blue dot when viewed from other worlds. This is our one and only Spaceship Earth. Let's not exploit it for political gain.
