The first seven three-part EMU’s of the Icm type entered service in 1977. This was a trial series. A follow-up series of 87 train sets followed in 1983. With the delivery of the new ICNG trainsets (see: www.flickr.com/photos/102474837@N03/albums/72177720314524528), the Icm trainsets will be taken out of service. Time to look through the archives.

EMU 4003 stranded in Utrecht after arriving from Nijmegen and is being towed to Haarlem by two EMU’s type plan-V. I do not know the exact date, but it would have been summer 1986/87. I have not been able to find out the number of the first EMU-set, it was too far outside the platform when coupling. The second set was the 450.

Bisporella citrina, commonly known as yellow fairy cups or lemon discos, is a species of fungus in the family Helotiaceae. The fungus produces tiny yellow cups up to 3 mm in diameter, often without stalks, that fruit in groups or dense clusters on decaying deciduous wood that has lost its bark.

Edit: I have had a different ID proposed to me and looking at the images it's more like Orbilia sp.

Mycorrhaphoides sp. A very similar fungus [ Mycorrhaphoides stalpersii] has only recently been discovered in India. These have a growth habit similar to Podoserpula pusio in that they form a pagoda-like structure of multi-tiered brackets growing from a central stipe. These along with several others are growing on the root system of a dead Planchonella obovoidea [Black ash, Yellow teak] tree. I used to collect many seeds from this tree during the 1980's & 1990's when I was deeply involved in reforestation of hillslopes. Top of left hand specimen is 11.5 cm across. Height approx. 16 -17 cm. My block.

...the light in my kitchen this morning was so yummy and caught my eye as I turned the corner. I recently painted the kitchen yellow so it added to the warmth of the color...saw it and grabbed my camera immediately...

So! It's been a seriously good day! There will be a lot of exclamation marks!

1. The last check made out to my company arrived today! This means I can make the last deposit, close the account, and dissolve my company. Having a company has been a pain in the rear for me and I'm happy that I'm now "just" an independent contractor and not the owner of a one-person company.

2. A hank of Socks that Rock in Love also arrived today! I'm thinking scarf, not socks. Any suggestions on what colorway/colors I should pair with this to make the (in)famous Chevron Scarf?

3. I won a the Grand Prize in a contest that I didn't even know I entered! I'm going to SOUTH AMERICA!!! I won a 6-night trip for two to Buenos Aires, Lima, Quito, or Bogotá--airfare, hotel, hotel transfers included--tickets to a World Cup qualification match, and $1000 of spending money!! I thought it was a scam, but it's not!!!! OMG! But now we have to work out the details.

The sad part is that I still have a mess of work to do and couldn't properly celebrate by looking on the Internet for info on which city to go to.
