Sonchus oleraceus
Aster family
The common name goes back to a time when these white sapped plants were fed to lactating pigs.
Monsoon is a season of hope for the millions of farmers in India. The current deluge of rain is keeping them happy, as they transplant from the nursery to the water logged field. It'll be a wait of three months from here on, but their merry songs tell me, that they are expecting a good harvest.
The deep furrow lines are emphasized by the low morning light in a field near Ririe, Idaho. The square format seemed to work with the geometry of the image.

"The sowing" is the name of out work for "Digital is Art. Art is Digital", they called it Delicatessen, but most of you know that is the general name of our sims, this particular work is called "The sowing"
Motivated by Joel Sartore's Ark Project last night, I got my closeup lens and flash out on the back patio this afternoon and plucked a sow bug from my composting bin. I took four shots moving the focus point back from the head and focus stacked them using Photoshop.
"A woodlouse is a crustacean from the monophyletic suborder Oniscidea within the isopods. They are called that from being found in old wood. The first woodlice were marine isopods which are presumed to have colonised land in the Carboniferous." - Wikipedia
I taped a sheet of paper inside a white plastic tray so there were no seems behind the bug and light would bounce around the box and eliminate as many shadows as possible. I used a Yongnuo YN662N-TX i-TTL flash controller on the camera and a Yongnuo YN622NII i-TTL transceiver on my SB800 speedlight. I used a small softbox on the speedlight.

Sonchus asper
Aster family
Native to Eurasia and North Africa
Roadsides, waste-places and disturbed ground
Sonchus is a genus of about 130 flowering plants in the dandelion tribe within the sunflower family. Most of the species are annual herbs and they are known as sow thistles (less commonly milk thistles, hare thistles or hare lettuces).
Sow thistles are common roadside plants, and while native to Eurasia and tropical Africa, they are found almost worldwide in temperate regions.
The 30 cm to 2 m long stem contains a milky latex.
Flower heads are yellow and range in size from 1 to 3 cm in diameter. The flowers are visited by various types of insects, especially bees, flies and hoverflies.

Sower is a colonizer.
Traveling through the universe searching asteroids and other small (low gravity) celestial bodies.
The ship covers the complex being - a derivative of plants.
Parts of "plant" being can perform differ actions such as providing fuel to engines, seed and fertilizer production , navigation, and "thinking"(;) Special manipulator places the seeds in the ground along with a portion of the fertilizer.
From the plants are born a humanoids completely dependent on mother plants (as a part of the mother plant) - these humanoids care about plants and spread the seeds from mother-plant on the surface of asteroid; this way the colony grows .
Sower was built from space scrap among other things, remains of cruise liner "Patagonia" and fragments of the Space Station Ring-37
Failed to establish any dialogue with the Sower ...
