South Eden, Utah has some of the last farmland on Bear Lake. Houses, resorts, and state parks take up most of the lakefront land, so it is a pleasure to find some open space like this. Across the lake we see the Bear River Range of the northern Wasatch mountains, which gets a lot more snow than the east side.
A low angle (lying down) shot of the South Foreland Lighthouse in the distance, built during during Victorian period to warn mariners of shifting sands and guide them through the Strait of Dover. It was the first Lighthouse anywhere in the world to display an electric light.
A Foster + Partners design built by a Malaysian developer, so named as it is located along the South Beach Road of Singapore. Only got to visit it one evening, would have loved to see it during the day too.

The last year has been a rather rough one for me, and its been a while since I've been out shooting. I finally had some nice weather, and was feeling the itch to do some shooting, so took Friday off and spent a day on the Oregon Trunk. Not a whole lot went as planned (as it typical on the OT), but finally caught a southbound which made for a nice afternoon chase. Here BNSF 7931 leads a manifest south along the Deschutes River as they approach South Junction. The MRL unit third out was giving the crew plenty of trouble, dying numerous times on the climb up the canyon. Between North Junction (MP 75.4) and South Junction (MP 85.8) the Oregon Trunk (SP&S) and Deschutes Railway (UP) shared trackage due to the very rough terrain in this part of the Deschutes River Canyon.
