Something has aroused Kafara's interest behind me. Enough to make him get up and investigate.
That intense stare is spell binding and hypnotic.
You can sense the awesome power he has just by watching him move and study what is happening around him. He sees everything that is happening. His senses are amazing.
I didn't realise just how broad his nose was - it's like a ledge over a cliff face and his battle scars are telling too.
One of the biggest threats to the African Lion today are the unsustainable trophy hunters who only want the largest, healthy males with impressive manes to put on display.
52 in 2018 Photo Challenge - something sweet. In the Make Your Own Booth, grandfather has just presented the little lady her very own strawberry shortcake. She is looking down at it and thinking yummy!!!

Uploaded for Jules Photo Challenge......The Guitar Player by Jan Vermeer ( 1672 ).....this painting hangs on the walls of Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath in North London - one of only 34 paintings attributed to him it was stolen and held to ransom in 1974 - though later recovered by police undamaged in a Central London Graveyard....I was passing by on the way home from work when I remembered this was here and thought it might do nicely for todays shot....
There is always something in the way

This particular visit was apparently late enough in the evening for Starbucks to have already closed up for the day. (Looks like the timestamp is 7:58PM, so that checks.) I’m just now noticing that there were still a bunch of people hanging out behind the counter, though! Interesting… I wonder what all they were doing in the dark.

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)

Little Joe E78 was involved in a rock slide back in 1966 out in Montana. Here it rests before being returned to Milwaukee, Wis. shops in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a re-building with an (argh) F UNIT cab.

I get so overwhelmed
Every time I look around
To see your love outrageous
So contagious, where you were
And where your faith is taking you now..."

Photoshop. I like it when I have time to play in Photoshop. Not so much free time these days though. Here's an edit that I did back in May. :) I just never got around to posting it.
There is something wonderful about Audrey G's whole vibe in this night portrait. It's intimate. Her eyes are enchanting, arresting and captivating. She is so comfortable, like she was on her couch with her favorite comforter. She combines the serene with a sensuality and intimacy that makes for a potpourri of ideas. Is she thinking about anything in particular or is her mind refreshingly vacuous and just free in the moment? I honestly don't know. I remain in contact with Audrey who is back at the University of Michigan. What I do know is the feeling she stimulates is something wonderful. Washington DC, 10 September 2017.

"What is it, then, between us?
What is the count of the scores or hundreds of years between us?
Whatever it is, it avails not—distance avails not, and place avails not."
There is a void that will never be filled. It creaks with loneliness and casts shadows of regret. Something is lost but never leaves.
I took this picture of my sister a couple years ago. It was a spur of the moment thing. I was never really into taking "people pictures" (it wasn't really a natural talent) but after the way these came out, I got inspired to try more! Anyways, she's a senior now, and I'll be taking her pictures soon.
