If you could have looked at the surroundings and the partial eclipse through your eclipse glasses at the same time, it might have looked something like this. Actual shot of the sun with eclipse filter, and ground /sky at the same time, without filtering.
Whilst at Thornton Reservoir yesterday evening, I decided to try something different and experiment with the focal length during a 30sec exposure. This is the result.
I'm not sure if I like it or not, my son thinks it's great.

I was standing on the deck at the Pilanesberg Centre watching the animals at the waterhole when this giraffe became very inquisitive and wandered over and tried to eat the camera. They are rebuilding the centre, as it burned down during some recent bushfires which destroyed at least 1/3rd of the park and killed a lot of the animals.

This old watering can was given to us by my mother-in-law. It is leaky and a little bit rusted but still treasured. Funny how the older you get, the better old things look...

Two Glasgow trams reside within the main entrance hall at the Riverside Museum near Partick. Wooden bodied single deck tram 672 is exquisitely preserved with the roof and pantograph of no 1392 also visible. Looking from the mezzanine floor within the museum as two Class 334 units pass heading towards Partick station.

Uploaded for Jules Photo Challenge......The Guitar Player by Jan Vermeer ( 1672 ).....this painting hangs on the walls of Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath in North London - one of only 34 paintings attributed to him it was stolen and held to ransom in 1974 - though later recovered by police undamaged in a Central London Graveyard....I was passing by on the way home from work when I remembered this was here and thought it might do nicely for todays shot....
