Hear what I hear
Somehow after close to thirty yeas of going to the Springfield Nature Center, I can now fairly consistently see Eastern bluebirds (Sialia sialis). I must not have been as patient before retirement or maybe it's a winter thing. This may be a female or an immature male with only the wings showing the typical blue. BTW, am not seeing as many focus issues after getting the 200-600 bazooka lens' firmware 2.0 update, whew.

Somehow the gray sky has the power to turn off the light inside you and vanish every hope for sun. It's like the "stand still" feeling. You no longer want to watch the sky but still you peak if a tiny ray could cut out and light up with gold tones. Hopeless is the waiting, but strong is the feeling not the give up.
Only a storm has the power of the huge changing.
That's why I love standing in the storm because I know that's just the last goodbye of the gray sky.

Somehow, there are a few lenses I always go back to. The Voigtländer Nokton 50mm f/1.5 from the Prominent rangefinder camera which was produced from 1952 to 1962. It was one of the best fast fifties of the fifties. Even today, it is one of the best vintage fast fifties in general. Some have slightly better IQ, some a bit more character, but none has that balance of IQ and character as the Nokton with a speed of f1.5 or less. Well, I am sure there is a whole planet that will not agree with me :) .
There is a lot of post-processing done in this photo to accentuate the bokeh and character of the lens.
Somehow I lost this photo from my photo stream when transfering a catalog to my new laptop. Alas, it was backed up.
I kinda fell in love with lighthouses during my visit to Maine. This one, inside Acadia National Park is my favorite.
Somehow here in the USA we seem to require more hours of work and give less time off than other countries. There must be a way to find solutions so that your employees do not leave due to burn out. All families deserve time together, no-one should be left out. I hope that our society starts looking into this situation and create better working conditions and relations between employers and employees.

Somehow we were blessed with fabulous sunshine during our walk along the seafront in Seattle. Looking out into Puget Sound it was a different kettle of fish as can be seen here. One of the many ferries that work this stretch of water can be seen making a crossing. No doubt its open decks were clear of passengers.

Somehow the BN pair got better. Today, 2967 tagged along out of Lincoln, making for a solid green consist, almost 30 years after the merger. This would be like CBQ, NP, GN, etc locomotives still running around in 1999...

Somehow I could not take my lense off this Black Swan a couple of days ago in that almost inaccessible, after the recent rains, part of Braeside wetland. I also can't help myself to keep on working on these shots and publish the results. This may all look a bit "over the top" but such are the times.

Somehow, I don’t know how I managed to climb atop a 6ft tall telegraph pole to shoot 317 rolling through Kirkcaldy, AB. I guess the extra 6 feet of elevation for my shot turned out well showing the 6 units on the head end of 317.
Somehow these ducks do not come to the city every year, although they are found in surrounding areas, so I really lucked out here. This is likely a young male, based on its white cap and emerging green plumage behind the eye, and on the wing feather pattern. Of course this fellow chose a very dark day to visit, so I did my best… This species is mostly found in North America with some in Europe, unlike the Eurasian Wigeon (see accompanying photo) that is somewhat more widely distributed, including in North America.

Somehow the BN pair has stayed together out of Lincoln for quite some time. Last night, they were the power for the 627 local which shuttles cars from Lincoln to Aurora and back.
We started the chase at Emerald.

I am a little behind on my 52 week challenge, but I'm getting it done as soon as I can! I've been quite busy! I have been staying steady on my 52Frames (because it's a countdown, I have to! Or I'll break my streak.. *ohh the pressure lol*)
I'm going to catch up as soon as I can. I have to do my 52Frames soon, and it's "PORTRAIT" & extra credit is "Rembrandt Lighting" - so we'll see if I get it done with the extra credit.. but either way I'll have a portrait for them by Sunday!
I've been VERY stressed out lately too, but I've been doing A LOT of praying and self reflection, and I know that it's all going to be okay. I'm remaining positive, even though sometimes it can be VERY HARD. (No worries, I'm fine! Everything is going to work out, in the right time!)

I took quite a few different photos that I could use for this one, however.. this sign has been in my mind ever since I heard of the subject.. I took this photo on the way home from the store, and I ended up choosing this one to use.
I really love the sign underneath, about the deaf cat.. It's so unique.

Somehow during this session my shutter speed got knocked down to 1/400. Which for handholding a 500mm with 1.4 converter on is a major no no. However in the group of blurry shots, I did catch this one, which I really like. Due to the slow shutter speed it gave me a nice lack of noise.
Somehow I kept my feet dry during this capture and did not lose the camera to the sea ...

Somehow this unique traffic cone (now calling it "that traffic cone") has resided in or near the parking lot of our post office for over a decade. Wear and tear more recently with snow plowing has resulted in pieces breaking off.
