One of my flickr friends introduced me to picmonkey, the now version of the defunct picnik, I really like it, so I had a play tonight with my galah shot that I was going to throw out and it came out quite well
a double exposure using my homemade soft focus filter. one exposure soft, the second sharp on my nikon D300.
cheers.

My new photography blog has yummy ice cream you can download! And fuel additives you can add to your car to triple your mileage!

If you’d like to view my images larger… While I only allow my contacts to view my larger images (I generally upload at least 800px images on the long axis)…
a quick workaround I might suggest is to view my photostream as a slideshow. Works well for me. This is frequently how I view others’ ‘streams, and it will put a large image on black. just click the projector screen icon next to the stream or set. : )

on 01 jan 2010, I began a new journey w/ a flickr 365 group that i formed. The idea is that I strive to push myself daily; by exploring techniques, ideas, and experiments.

Decided to be stupid and get up early, before sunrise, and take some pictures thinking it would be cooler, and have some dew on the plants. What I forgot is this is Texas, it's never that much cooler, and it's been so dry here that there was no dew. I was about to go back inside and back to sleep, when I saw this spider with it's early meal for the day :)

Gimp or PhotoShop:
duplicate layer
make top layer about 40% opaque (60% transparent)
blur bottom layer (Gaussian blur around 40px radius)
Actually I cheated and did a third layer on top for the eyes alone with another 40% opacity.

How would you edit this group
Nosey neighbor, spray-on-frosted glass, eunymous against the southern-facing window.
I did nothing to this photo except reduce the size.
Oh yes .... and I was inspired to take this shot by Poesie here at flickr (http://www.flickr.com/people/poesie/). I think many of her images are simply beautiful.
