Ah, that daguerrotype look :O
(BTW, there was no photoshopping, the fogginess comes from the soft-focus feature of EF 135 f2.8.)

The same model as in previous pic (on points) but different location. Myself and a few friends had use of this building before it was to be completely redecorated. We spent most of a Sunday taking pics in various locations within the building. In this large room was one chair and nothing else.

It rains, so I've decided to walk around with a softfocus lens. Here's the result. The lens is way good for portraits, but it's also quite interesting at night.

Plou, o sigui que he sortit a caminar amb la lent softfocus. Aquest és el resultat. La lent és molt bona per retrats, però també és interessant per fer fotos de nit.

I don't think I've ever shot with a lens with bokeh this smooth. Check out that leaf in the background in the upper right.
OK, so it's not such a wonderful shot. It's just a test of my latest homemade soft focus lens with my new DIY apodization filter.
Lens details: Two elements, 115 mm focal length, light-gathering equivalent to f/ 5.
Front element is a -700 mm negative meniscus. Rear element is a 110 mm positive meniscus.
Positioned between the two elements is a homemade apodization filter with a clear center and gradually increasing opacity towards the edges.
I can't wait to try this on my medium format camera. Stay tuned.
Shot two weeks ago at Maxwell Food Center, but finally pulled it out to experiment with soft focus layering ... wished I had gotten a little bit more catchlights in his eyes but the sun was overhead which accounted for the highlights on his hair and his perky little nose :-)
