The winter storm brought about 12" of snow to southeast Wisconsin yesterday and last night. The kids got a snow day so the wife and I decided take off work too. I love fresh snow and sunshine.

One of the fun things about this walk on our "snow day" was that you couldn't even drive back to this park. I had to walk from the road. Getting back into the woods was well worth it though, especially when I turned the corner from a dark, shaded patch of forest and saw this light.
Back when I was still at NIU and Will was living in DeKalb, we got out the morning after a 13" snowfall to catch some action.

This isn't much of an artsy landscape post but more something I wanted to share with my followers. This is taken from my front door this morning and even though I own a modified 33" truck I don't suspect I'll be getting very far on it anytime soon. All this snow came overnight, and I don't remember it snowing this much in this short span of time during my life here in ReykjavÃk.
Update: I was able to get around rather easily, at least while the snow is like powder. Apparantly a record has been broken in ReykjavÃk, 53cm of continouus snow.
