I wonder why this Smart variant hasn't taken off in the UK...

The Smart Forfour was produced in this form from 2004 until 2006. It was developed together with the Mitsubishi Colt and built alongside that model at the NedCar factory in the Netherlands. Both cars have the same chassis, suspension and engines. The car didn't sell well and was taken from the market within a few years after its introduction.

I was playing around with my Kikipops and found out that Smart Dolls are strong enough to hold them... with one arm! Ok later I'm going to have to experiment with how many she can hold, haha.

A recent posting of mine had the dubious benefit of my old-fart grumblings about buses with lots of glass. Body builders have been at this sort of thing for a long time, as seen here. On the right is ex-Scottish Omnibuses B675, an AEC Reliance 2MU3RV with very attractive and well-proportioned Alexander bodywork. The same manufacturers were responsible for the other bus, RVD 112, new to Baxter's of Airdrie in 1958 but acquired by SOL with that firm.

By 1974 both were providing staff transport for Smart, a local building contractor with a penchant for ex-SOL vehicles.

SWS671, an identical vehicle to 675, survives in preservation.

The good burgers of Edinburgh insisted on calling the green buses running in their city, 'SMT buses', even after the SMT fleeetname and diamond had long been supplanted by 'Eastern Scottish'. The habit persisted long enough to be rewarded by the fleet becoming (briefly) SMT again following privatisation.

Smart Doll Summer has arrived! It seems odd to handle such a large doll and not have her kicking and flinging her arms around like a bjd. The telescoping stand is handy, too.

At 6'1" I'm not super tall, but tall enough that I thought I would

never fit in a Smart Car -- surprisingly I fit and this thing would

certainly be a fun (but VERY LITTLE) city car. The only thing it's missing is an

airbag that completely surrounds the car right before getting into an

accident with a H2.
