Photographed at RSPB Frampton Marsh {Lincolnshire, UK}.
Ruffs are superb birds, they come in all sorts of colours, shapes and sizes!
The young Night heron I found in the river the other day, I felt the change of seasons. I can only see the figure that is always seem frozen. because there is no movement. I don't really know much about this heron. I want to see a grown adult bird.

I'm so sorry for my long absence but I am now RETIRED and I'm currently on vacation. I am thoroughly looking forward to being a regular on Happy Caturday again.
Happy Caturday: Paws
I watched this little guy fly up
and grab the end of the grass stem with his beak,
then land on the stick and place it under his foot,
now he could enjoy the breakfast that was out of reach.
Smart and beautiful :)
Stay safe and happy!
Ibises are a group of long-legged wading birds in the family Threskiornithidae, that inhabit wetlands, forests and plains. Ibises usually feed as a group, probing mud for food items, usually crustaceans. It is widespread across much of Australia. It has a predominantly white plumage with a bare, black head, long down curved bill and black legs. They are monogamous and highly territorial while nesting and feeding. Most nest in trees, often with spoonbills or herons. Due to its increasing presence in the urban environment and its habit of rummaging in garbage, the species has acquired a variety of colloquial names such as tip turkey; and bin chicken, and in recent years has become an icon of popular culture, being regarded with passion, wit, and, in equal measure, affection and disgust. 55209

These three locomotives all look particularly smart and yet have a combined age of almost 150 years between them. On the right we see a pair of GP39-2's that were delivered new in 1975 to the Aitchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, numbers 2884 and 2265. Whilst to their left is SD40-2 number 1779. Now operated by BNSF, this yard and these locomotives looked particularly smart, orderly and clean.

We get upwards of 7 or 8 pigeons coming into the garden to get food that I put out for smaller birds. One of them has learned how to hold onto a feeding perch, while flapping like mad, to get sunflower hearts out of a feeder!
This one is probably the most handsome.
