Well, where do I begin......this had to be seen to be believed !!! The location is Freathy Cliffs, Whitsand Bay, which is on the coast in South East Cornwall. After a disappointing photo shoot the evening before, I decided to drive along the coast road, and stay overnight in my VW. The road and car park are situated under the fog. I set my alarm for 0600, crawled out of the van, and could not see a thing.... at this point I thought the day was going to be a write-off !!! So I was carefully driving along the coast road in zero visability, when the cloud and fog completely cleared. I then decided to drive out to the Rame Peninisula, which gave me this view over Freathy. The cliffs are dotted with holiday chalets, one of which you can see exposed through the mist. Having experimented with different shutter speeds, I settled on 8 seconds using a 6 stop filter,.as I felt this gave a sense of movement as the fog rolled over the cliffs like a wave. Sorry about the long write-up, but I felt this needed some explaining, as it was so special to experience. Would be great to have some feedback on this image........Enjoy your weekend.

Marina Bay Area, Singapore.
Taken, November 2011.
I posted an identical view of this shot previously - taken from the same vantage point. The only difference is that this shot was taken at the blue hour while the previous shot was taken when the blue hour was over.

I love Cornwall, especially during the winter months. Although the weather hasn't been favorable this week, there was a break from the howling winds and rain, so I ventured out for a stroll along the SW Coastal path.
Pedn Vounder beach isn't an easy place to get to, especially when the ground is still wet, but persevere I did. Mounting a tripod on a narrow ledge and scrambling to attach an ND filter, not so easy....
Thanks for viewing and have a great day....:-)
High tide at La Jolla is always a thrill ride. Trying to keep the gear intact and spray off the lens is a challenge! !
I normally would not post an image with so much spray on the lens but I liked the dynamics, with all the people, and the flow, that I hope you can over look it!!
If not...... oh well :)
When it comes right down to it I shoot rocks!!! How boring is that??? OK I do need water sometimes too :)
Long Exposure Using Neutral Density (ND) Filters – Sonoma County Beaches, Sonoma County, CA, U.S.A. October 26, 2016
These rocks at Towan Head Newquay, take on a real surreal feel at sunset. Combined with the lovely shingle beach, it's well worth a visit if you happen to be near Newquay. Your comments are most welcome....
A 30-second exposure created a nice swirl of the floating leaves at the base of the Factory Falls at George W Childs Park. I tried a longer exposure of 2-minutes and 4-minutes and the leaves blurred so much that the swirl disappeared. The feedback from digital is a great tool to find the sweet spot of shutter speed.
