I recently took a vacation to Vegas, Arizona and once again, New York as a late 21st present to myself!
Since I haven't been getting out I've created pictures for some of my groups.. This one was created in T2D In Deep Dream Generator... Some of the ducks weren't good so I added a couple of my own... LOL!! Happy Bench Monday, Everybody!!!

Since I am back at school, I'm feeling like this project's going to be harder to accomplish each week as I get more to do and have less free time so I apologize if pictures aren't uploaded on time.
Last week, I waited until Friday to take pictures, and they didn't turn out as I planned. I was thinking about doing what I wanted in an abandoned place. I wanted someplace desolate to almost mimic how I was feeling since arriving back to school. It took a while for us to find the right place and to get what I wanted, but most of all, this picture was a lot like self portrait therapy, which was exactly what I wanted out of this picture.
this is still hard to do, but since I'm getting a little more used to it, I just love taking shots like this!
A banded snail kite hauls off a recently caught crawfish to a nearby tree, Really. Do we need a name change to "mudbug" kite? Just sayin'......................
Taken in Florida.
My sincere thanks to all who spend the time to view, like or comment on my photos. It is much appreciated!

I think its probably been over three years since I have photographed a Robin. Something I would look forward to every winter when they come down from the Mountains and can be found closer to home. They visit the farm every year so I was able to play with this lovely make Flame Robin (Petroica phoenicea) who was rather bold and posed for me nicely on this pole. I couldn't get near the females.
Our time ended on abit of a sad note when I found the resident Echidna that has featured in some of my photos hit by a car out the front. She was alive so I stood by her to stop other idiots speeding past and doing more damage while the Sherpa got a box and some gloves (very spiky animals).
None of the Vets were open so we got in contact with Wildlife Victoria. We eventually got connected with a lovely couple who were wildlife carers 20 minutes away and took the echidna there. She was hit on the nose which is their most sensitive part. I couldn't tell what other damage had been done. My main concern was that she was in pain and suffering. The couple were a retired nurse and medic so the echidna was in good hands and will get pain relief. The carers will take it to Healesville Sanctuary and if it can be saved, it will nursed back to health and released right back where we found her. I am hoping for a good outcome.
Since yesterday, when we received about 4 cm (1,5 inches) of snow, an arctic blast is visiting Spain. Its name is Filomena, and it is expected to leave snowfall in the capital of up to 20 cm (8 inches) during today Friday and tomorrow Saturday.
Then the temperatures will drop sharply to around -12ºC (10F), a temperature that would be a low record in the city of Madrid.
This photo was taken from home at noon, and it shows families enjoying the snowfall, intense at the time, in one of the neighborhood parks.
Now, you need to be extremely cautious and safe. We are not used to these intense snowfalls, nor to the intense cold, therefore, we must take extreme precautions and take the car as necessary.
I wish you all a good Friday, good health and enjoy the beauty of Winter!

It’s been a while since I edited photos, but I love doing it in SL. Back with new shots.

Since it's been so hot and humid, I thought I'd post a reminder of what a very cold and gloomy February day can be.
The Minnetonka Zephyr Dinner train run by Jerry Ross on the former BN "Hutch" line (now a "trail") later moved to Stillwater MN as the Minnesota Zephyr. I can still remember the bone chilling cold of those days. I especially remember looking in to the cars as they passed by and seeing people toasty warm and having a nice dinner while I was freezing on the cold and windy right of way once again questioning this hobby.
Since I processed this image some time ago, I can't remember the many things that I did to the original.
What is this ? It's a close up of the E - A - D strings on my guitar.

Since me and Cecily are OBSESSED with the movie "Practical Magic" it was only fitting to take a pic inspired by it!
Since December 2020, Henri Coandă International Airport, the main airport of the Romanian capital, can be reached by train. Trains from the state railway company Căile Ferate Române and the private carrier Transferoviar Călători, which mainly uses DH2 trainsets from the Netherlands, run 24 hours a day. On February 20, 2022, CFR Desiro 96-2014 will depart at 4.32am as train R-E 7912 to București Gara de Nord.
The Phoenician site of Sa Caleta has been the most important discovery of the last twenty-five years of archeology in the Pityusic Islands (Ibiza and Formentera-Spain) Its scientific importance lies in the fact that it is the only exponent of analysis for the oldest phase of the Phoenician colonization of Ibiza. The Sa Caleta site is part of the World Heritage Site called "Ibiza, Biodiversity and Culture", declared by Unesco in 1999.

Since these terns no longer nest near Merritt, BC I have missed them. It was fun being so close to them in Alberta. They are my favorite tern because of their unique color!
Since I still have some photos to upload I'll post two some days
P.S. you can't imagine how difficult it is to focus an image like this with a f/1.8
Old abandoned house in NC. Supposedly haunted. Thank you LenaBem-Anna and Rubyblossom for the beautiful textures!
Since starting OOAK and our photography adventures 4 years ago, I'm finding the more time I spend in the wilderness with photographers I now call friends, it's becoming so difficult to exist in the hustle and bustle of the real world, airports, cities and the way everyone has to crawl all over each other to get ahead.
In the mountains with a bunch of awesome people, my camera and creativity you really can't compare. On this night set up in the freezing cold on top of Cradle Mountain, beers and some awesome togs floating around including Jason L. Stephens, Aaron Jones and the OOAK crew, we just let the night take us.
Are not always the best. In spite of how the saying goes. This is an old pic of early morning sunshine on the giant cooling towers of the UK's last coal-fired power station at Ratcliffe-on-Soar. A major landmark for miles around and standing here in what looks like fields of gold. The power station finishes producing electricity by burning coal today (01/10/24) after running since 1967. It'll be a significant milestone and could mark the end of our long love affair with fossil fuels.
Since there's no FL9 for picture 490, we'll return to Conrail and freight action (technically there was an Amtrak FL9 No. 490 but it was one of six junk units sent for scrap). Here at Oakland Road in Weedsport, a gift that keeps on giving as far as locations go, we see westbound double stack train TV-201X with C36-7 No. 6643 leading a B40-8, B36-7, and GP40-2 for power, on the pleasant late summer afternoon of 21 September 1991.
Since pre-Inca times, salt has been obtained by evaporating water ponds, from Maras subterranean streams. The town of Maras is located in Cusco, Peru.
Since many groups discourage either posting images of nests, or giving their locations, I am not going to bother "sharing" this with a group. However, I did want to share with those who follow me on Flickr the curious nature of the general location of this nest that I learned about on Friday. Specifically, I have never seen, nor did I ever imagine a Bald Eagle nest in such close proximity to human activity. I captured this image in the parking lot of a shopping plaza with a large supermarket. A local told me the eagles have been there for at least two years, and managed to fledge two juveniles last year. This eagle flew in while I was observing. The other eagle that had been on the nest, took off a few minutes later leaving this guy to guard to site.
Original statue since 1972 at the mouth of the Singapore River. 8,60 M. high. Inside made of cement, covered with white porcelain tiles.
Symbolic : The lion refers to the name of the city, because Singa-Pore literally means lion city. The fishy part of the statue refers to the city in the 14th century, when Singapore was a simple fishing village and was called Temasek.
Since these ladybirds visited my giant Chrysanthemum, all the aphids have disappeared from the leaves and stems. I am grateful to these pretty and industrious insects :)
Zoomed in here for a portrait shot, since such nice feather detail to be seen here. I will post other shots of this fine owl, stay tuned. I was pleased to find this owl staring at me yesterday afternoon as I walked. Judging from the red on the beak, a meal may have occurred shortly beforehand. I stood and took some shots for just a minute or so, and did not disturb the bird from its perch, we quietly observed one another, and I moved on.
Since 1995 both the Santa Fe GP60Ms and the Harbor Sub have been demoted to local service only, but ATSF pride is still evident as Saturday's Y-WAT1041-28I rolls over Normandie Avenue just outside of Watson Yard. The LA basin's infamous May grays reared their head in the form of cloudy morning skies, but I took the opportunity here to shoot this bridge from the north side at an angle that would otherwise never be well lit at all - with an ATSF herald on the bridge as a bonus! Throw away the patches and the new Toyota, replace those tanks with double stack cars, and you've got a scene from the last years of the Santa Fe era.

I'm leaving Poland and soon gonna be on my way back to China...
She's the reason!
Since I took this in the Nashville airport, the musical connection was an easy decision for the Title. I often enjoy listening to music and visualizing what it might look like. Now to decide whether its Alabama Shakes, White Stripes, Hozier, Mozart or Beethoven? ;-))
