Long Ago Time Stopped: 12.01.20.19

Since I've posted many of these flowers, I have disabled the comments and I hope all that come and take a look like what you see....

Thank you so much and wishing everyone a happy Sunday and new week!!

Since it's still full winter in the mountains you will have to cope with another image from my series White days.

Taken in Durrenskalet outside the small mountain village Klimpfjäll.

Since a few of you asked, here’s a version of the lake without the kayak. It was taken a few minutes earlier than the previous one so the light coming over the mountains isn’t as great here, and the slightly different spot doesn’t show as much of the fall color. But I do prefer the clouds in this one, and the fact that the tops of the peaks aren’t clipped in the reflections here. Thanks for looking. Cheers!

Since 1824, Świnoujście has been a seaside resort with a healing sea climate. After medicinal brine springs were discovered in the town's area in 1897, they were used for spa treatments, as were the existing medicinal mud deposits. The picture shows the graduation towers at one end of the promenade, near which the air is particularly salty and beneficial for respiratory problems.

Since the White-faced Whistling Duck at showed up in Green Cay last week, I looked back at my captures last August and found a few shots I haven't posted yet.

Since we can only stay in the immediate vicinity of our place of residence at the moment, I'm looking for motifs here and have been able to experience this sunset very close to me this evening. The beauty is sometimes closer than you think - you just have to see it ...

"A stubborn Royalist stronghold during the Civil War, Ashby fell to Parliament after a long siege in 1646. You can explore an atmospheric underground passage from the kitchen to the tower, probably created during the siege." www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/ashby-de-la-zouc...

Its been awhile since I've updated a studio pic. I've been busy spring cleaning and packing shit, accumulated from my endless hoarding of cute stuff from over 15 years ago. Going through all these treasures sure brings back much memories. Its like opening a time machine and this made me think of why I love doing what I do so much. Collecting toys, animation and making colourful candy art is my life. It makes me happy. Very, very happy.

This is a typical evening in the sweet studio where all the magic happens. Of course I added some imaginary friends in there, but its pretty much what goes on in my head. Trippy all the time.

Note: Been having a lot of problems with Flickr lately and it appears I still am even with using Chrome instead of Mozilla! My comments here with my photos are fine, but in the group pools the comments section is not showing.... (thank goodness it didn't start happening until I had awarded several others in The New Masterclass group!)

I am not sure if this is something with Flickr or it is my computer!

At any rate, I am taking my computer in and having a full recovery done today so that hopefully everything will be fine and STAY running smoothly.

I will be back! And I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Since it's the 20s again, figured why not dress for the occasion. Happy New Year, everybody

Since mid- December, I have been daily hiking the gorgeous lands surrounding St. George, Utah, lands which are part of the geologic formation known as the Colorado Plateau. The sculpted cliffs and canyons of this area present themselves through an amazing colour palette of crimson, vermilion, organge, salmon, peach, pink, gold and white, dotted in places by iron concretions - black, spherical rock marbles that collect in shallow depressions.

This image - composed in the Paradise Valley just outside of St. George - provides an example of the visual feasts one finds in this region. In the days to come, I will post other photographs from Utah’s portion of the Colorado Plateau, images I hope you will enjoy.

Happy New Year, Everyone, and may 2025 bestow upon you good health, pleasing accomplishments and many moments of joy.

I tried since some weeks to photograph frozen bubbles, but I had no success. It was not cold enough, I had the wrong liquid-mixture and the bubbles weren't stable. So I was near to give up. Then I read the description of - now I don't remeber, where I found it on flickr - and followed her instructions. I prepared the bubble-liquid and my camera. Today morning it had -9 degrees and I hadn't go to work because we have a day off today where I live. So all was perfect and I'm happy that I could photograph the bubbles. I tried the lightning with a LED lamp but nothing is better than sunlight. You only see the structures good with sunlight. Now I hope that my neighbours don't think that I'm mad :-)

Some photos were made by a series of focus layers and put together with focus stacking.

since some weeks i have kind of shadow troubles, and now the blocks comes too. annoying. #raw

Banda de Música de São João da Madeira

Been awhile since I posted an image of this massive mountain.

A compressed shot looking NW as the morning light hit this highest peak on the continent.

This impressive mountain was known to the Athabaskan and many other native tribes as Denali (“The High/Tall One”) and to the Russians as Bolshaya Gora (“Great Mountain”). An easy one to name...

"Denali is the highest mountain peak in North America, with a summit elevation of 20,310 feet (6,190 m) above sea level. With a topographic prominence of 20,156 feet (6,144 m) and a topographic isolation of 4,629 miles (7,450 km), Denali is the third most prominent and third most isolated peak on Earth, after Mount Everest and Aconcagua." Happy Friday!

Since I have planned two tours in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains for the next two weeks (Lilienstein and Kleiner Winterberg) and will hopefully bring back a lot of pictures, today I'm reaching into the pile of unpublished photos from the past.

This one comes from a beautiful sunrise that I was able to experience on mount Rauenstein, which was four months ago now.

The landscape is depicted relatively abstractly in this picture because my focus here is on the rocks and their fascinating surface structure. And on the other hand, I wanted to capture the wafts of fog that are currently drifting over the mountain ridge and that are made to glow by the morning sun.

Since I love packaging, I had to have these beautiful organza bags, each with a different charm and heart applique.

This gal loves to accessorize, thus the beaded icicle!

Two weeks since we saw Lion and had given up hope but simply could not stop looking because of Beau's sad demeanor....my sister suggested maybe Lion got packed away with the Christmas decorations and could be in the loft.. Jonathan and I didn't have an ounce of energy left and are still in pain after small but painful injuries incurred when searching for Lion during the last few days. I asked my son Ivan who came down and went into the loft but no Lion there.. He looked in the wheelie bin ( the only place we hadn't looked apart from the loft...not there. He went back out to the conservatory (which is very small ) and looked under the sofa and both chairs..not there..pulled out a sofa to see if Lion was behind it and.........Lion dropped down to the floor and Beau had Lion back at last..phew. Much rejoicing of an almost 11 year old dog being reunited with an even older raggy lion..bought second hand for its raggy softness and rubbed all over Beau who was straight from the whelping pen. He still had raggy Teddy..same history but has been taught to fetch Teddy and Lion separately and was still searching disconsolately every day for Lion.. Not quite the same as a Lion lying down a lamb. Just our Beau laying down with Teddy and Lion.. Have to tell him to bring both again now ..Sue :)

Since I got its photo on May 7 this year, I saw the fox time to time around our home. This morning I got this photo so I think there is the den around our area. According to the web, in good habitats ranges may be 2-5 sq. miles.

And I hope I can get more pictures when the young ( with the mother) will "play" with, and eat the live prey.

Since my previous visit, the farmer has ploughed his field giving a less interesting backdrop and the clocks have changed giving some less pleasing light at this time of the morning.

After a 105 minute early departure from Lostock Works (and a panic to get somewhere quickly for it), 60017 is now only running 11 minutes early as it gets into its stride taking the empty hoppers back to Tunstead for refilling.

It is around a year since 60017 was on this circuit, sharing the duties with 60074 for much of April and May 2020.

Since I'm a bit late today and am currently struggling with a (hopefully) minor computer problem, I'll skip a long text and simply send you back to the forest near the Adrspach Rock City in the Czech Republic.

I recently took a vacation to Vegas, Arizona and once again, New York as a late 21st present to myself!

Since May, I have wanted to learn to do a "pan" shot. I saw a photo on Flickr that blew me away and I knew I wanted to try it. Well, I studied up on it and tried and tried but the thing just never came together but this week, the Bean and I got away for his birthday and we went to Playa del Rey. We spent a glorious few hours photoggin' and we were on this bridge with all these riders going by, it was the perfect practice place! I just had to try. It was one of those giddy moments, let me tell you.

Since I haven't been getting out I've created pictures for some of my groups.. This one was created in T2D In Deep Dream Generator... Some of the ducks weren't good so I added a couple of my own... LOL!! Happy Bench Monday, Everybody!!!

Since the arrival of KKH tourism and overseas aid, Karimabad has prospered and the bazaar has filled with hotels, restaurants, travel agencies and handicraft shops. The superb setting, grand fort, good food, friendly locals and opportunity to swap tales with other highway travellers make Karimabad an ideal stopover.

A banded snail kite hauls off a recently caught crawfish to a nearby tree, Really. Do we need a name change to "mudbug" kite? Just sayin'......................

My sincere thanks to all who spend the time to view, like or comment on my photos. It is much appreciated!
