CN Tower celebrates St. Patrick's day, as I stood on a rooftop terrace freezing my b***s off with a can of Guinness.

Same owner since 1990.
I decided to revisit this eye-watering survivor which I spotted before.
Sadly it now has no tax or MOT, which ran out a few months ago. I suspect the owner might have given up driving so there's just two ways about it I think, it's either going to be laid up here and is already going green or it's going to get scrapped soon I'm afraid.
I'm pretty sure the owner knows what they got, so I imagine they're attatched to it. I would really love to knock on the door and ask about it, but I'm afraid I'm not in a position to have a second car, especially given the fact that it would need a bit of work as it's surprisingly quite a used example with 160k miles on the clock, and check out the rust on the bodywork!
I really hope this will get saved by someone while it's still hanging on, as this was the last SGL left on the roads.
Since I purchased a Nikkor 105mm f/2.8. macro lens I'm constantly discovering interesting subjects in the garden. I'm not 100% sure the left eye is pin sharp, but I'm pretty satisfied with my first shareable insect macro capture.
Since, Xray-November was among the "MiniBuses" which temporarly served short-lived Joon from 2017-11-10 until 2019-06-27.
Since it's colder than a well diggers ass in January outside, how about an image from the time of year when you sweat just by virtue of walking outside?
Sure do miss that old bridge in Gardner and the ATSF style signal bridge in the background.
Since 1927 the Lions of the Amsterdam Zoo ARTIS have lived on the Kerbert Terrace, a state of the art area behind a moat without the until then requisite barred fencing. After almost a century, renewal was called for to give them more room but Covid-19 reduced the flow of paying visitors and thus also the Zoo's income. So construction plans had to be iced; a new, more spacious home was sought for our Giant Cats, Demba and his wives Kianga and Kacela. It was found in the zoological garden La Palmyre in the Charente-Maritime of southwestern France, more or less on the Atlantic coast. Goodbyes are scheduled for the middle of February. Oh! so sad, a zoo without Lions.
Incidentally, that terrace was named for Coenraad Kerbert (1890-1927), a well-known herpetologist and the second director of the zoo.
Under a tearing sky this morning I walked in the city and found two Lion Gablestones.
The top gilded, rampant Lion is part of a house originally built in 1565, Sint Annenstraat 12. From 1897 it was safeguarded in the Rijksmuseum but replaced when the house was finally restored in 1994.
The bottom guardian Lion is from a house in my neighborhood that was built in 1668. It was torn down to make way for the new metro but the stone was saved. It was to have been returned to this area (the Lastage) but instead was sold to butcher Fred de Leeuw in the Utrechtsestraat (at 92) where it was placed with a small ceremony in 2000.
But fierce as they look neither Lion roars...

It's been awhile since I pulled out the Nikon D70s and the "nifty fifty" lens (Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 D AF). So armed with the D70s, I decided to find the wine goblet again this morning (it's only water in the goblet, but its 5 o'clock somewhere!), as I watched the sun rise this morning. Hope everyone has had a great week, and I wish you all a wonderful weekend! CHEERS! This photograph is available as a limited edition poster of 500. Should you be interested, flickr-mail me and I'll send you a link on where to purchase a poster.

Added Feb 18, 2011... Thanks to those at Spiritualteachers.org who also think it okay to copy the picture to imageshack and then post it on their blogs!. But do have to say that at least one poster did provide a link back to that one person's credit, before one of their "senior" members decided to put it on imageshack and post it on their blogs.
Appartently they can't read the disclaimer below, and have no spirituality and definitely NOT teachers, by stealing! Does it really hurt to ask to use a photograph??

Do I really need to put my disclaimer below in flashing, neon, text!???!?
Is it really that hard to ask, or give credit where credit is due!
Apparently so!

I've just started playing Fate/Grand Order for 6 days but I knew this game for almost a year. 😅
It was a JDM model that I believe came to the UK with an American serviceman. There were a few others in this Q...LEW series where DVLA must have struggled to dtermine the original date of manufacture and so they ended up with Q-plates (see below).
Untaxed since 2002, I seem to recall it spending time in Ratdat's field before being sold on.

In four short years since not getting past the qualifying round in Bank of the West Classic played at Stanford, CA, Naomi has risen to world number one tennis player. (I'm not saying it took her less than these four years to be where she is. I am sure she's been playing / training hard since much before 2015.)
I'm not a tennis expert but when I saw her at this match in 2015, I thought she had the game / power but if she worked more on her physical fitness and mental toughness, she could be among the top players of the world one day. Not sure what tweaks she (and her team) made but, like they say, rest is history! Congrats to her and her team.

This year marks 150 years since the first railway line was opened in the Emmental region of Switzerland. To mark the anniversary, BLS, which operates the lines in the area, and several local associations organized a large-scale event on the weekend of May 17-18. Open days were held at several stations and depos in the region, and special trains arrived from different parts of the country for the programs. The transportation between the different open days was facilitated by nostalgic trains: everything from steam engines to electric traction trains could be encountered on the extensive railway network of the region.
One such train was the RBDe 4/4 I. The more than 50-year-old train was manufactured in 1974 and was considered a pioneer in its time as Switzerland's first swing-door railcar. A few years ago, enthusiastic volunteers, crowdfunding and donations saved it from scrapping, and since then we can see it on nostalgia tours of the association created for the train. The motor car no. 222 and its control car no. 922 ran between Burgdorf and Konolfingen every two hours.

A különböző nyílt napok közötti közlekedést nosztalgiavonatok segítették: a gőzösöktől a villany vontatású szerelvényekig mindennel lehetett találkozni a régió kiterjedt vasúthálózatán.
Egyik ilyen szerelvény volt a képen is látható RBDe 4/4 I-es.

Since this is something I have been struggling with lately, how do you stay inspired? How do you keep fresh ideas flowing?
Since I've missed several weeks this year, I thought that I would post 2 images for this week's theme - because I always enjoy a good slide ;) Hope that's ok :)
Since someone stole my campsite Friday night, I went up to Newfound gap and did three star trails, a wide field astro shot of Lagoon and Trifid Nebulae, and a dawn shoot with three compositions. It was a long 40 hour day, but I got some nice images out of it. This one is 88 - 30 second frames stacked.
Since it is bloody cold out, thought I would put up a pic that was not snow themed. Here is Deborah and I at a luau, and contrary to how I might look, I am quite sober and sunburned. Sending everyone warm thoughts. B
Since I bought the awesome Gordan Freeman minifigure. I needed to build something for him.
I love the Half Life Games, so I decided to build my favorite character out of it – of course it's Dog! The awesome robot built by Eli to protect his doughter Alyx. I really hope to see him again in the third part of the Half Life series!
I know I didn't get the colors right, but it's really hard to get the hands on those rare color parts.. and expensive.. Well I think it turned out quite good enough!
Thanks to -Balbo-, hellboy.lego and ranghaal for the feedback during the building-process 😄
To be honest, im actually working since March on a large passenger airplane (maybe you guessed it?) - yet thats sometimes sooo time consuming and little rewarding - its frustrating, so i decided i quickly build a small airplane instead.
This is just a classic warplane, i reversed engineered my Aeronca front design technique, flipped that 90 degrees sideways to get that slim and pointy front done. Im really pleased by how it turned out. Only took me 6 hours...
Scale is 1/43 and measured out.
The body is less than 4 wide to match the original proportions!
Not sure about actually decaling it with the official warpaint. I mean its a german warplane from ww2 afterall...and this is lego bricks...
So i just did some black and white thingy and no sticker at the tail wing where actually the swastika is.
Hit me up if you spot any mistakes or flaws proportion wise.
Hope we could find the medicine we need...

Emery Worldwide was a cargo airline, active since 1946, once one of the leading carriers in the cargo airline world. Emery had its planes grounded on August 13, 2001, due to poor aircraft fleet maintenance. It officially ceased operating on December 5, 2001. The company operated a large fleet of 42 Boeing 727-100Fs.
N427EX (Boeing 727-22C c/n 19090 l/n 277) was delivered to UNited Airlines as N7402U in June 1966. In November 1980 the plane returned to Boeing that sold it to Emery Worldwide in August 1981 as N427EX. Emery operated the plane until the retirement in November 2003. Later broken up by the year 2005.
Slide dated May 1983 showing the plane in its classic red Emery WW color scheme.

Since the last time I visited this spot, the Beaver have been busy. Before, the foreground pond was nearly dry. But then the savage beasts moved in and constructed a dam. You can see the top line of the dam midway up the image.
This winter, I suspect the savage beasts will eat most of the bushes on the far side of the dam, along with the bushes behind me.
And the landscape will change again.
Since the heat broke a little today, I decided to take a quick run to Cattus Island to see how the Osprey offspring were progressing. Though this frame only shows two of the fledglings, there are three in the nest. All seem to be doing well.
I thought, since 'Spectrum of the Sky' is one of my most viewed pictures, I might wanne do a new version with updated skies and an aligned horizon. I hope you like it!
P.S. All those picture have been taken on Corsica, except for number 7 which is Switzerland.
