The manor Senden was in the Middle Ages under the name Benekamp owned by the family of Senden called Benekamp . The heiress of this sex, Kunigunde, married Alexander (Sander) Droste to Kakesbeck (1357-1401). His father Albrecht was a brother of Heinrich Droste to Vischering, progenitor of the later barons and Count Droste to Vischering , who are to this day, among others, at the castle Vischering , the moated castle Darfeld and the Erbdrostenhof in Münster resident. Under the name Droste zu Senden a new family branch was formed.

The son of Sander and Kunigunde, Ludeke Droste (1405-1466), built the much later supplemented Castle Send as a festival house in the form of a moated castle. His son Sander II Droste zu Senden (1448-1502) built the mansion in its present form, which is probably the oldest surviving architectural monument of this type and model for buildings of the Westphalian Renaissance with its three-level gable. Presumably from this time also comes the southern facing facade of the connecting structure with a series of stone cross windows and loopholes.

A flickr friend sent me the cutest pair of socks after I commented about how cute hers were and demanded she send me some immediately!! Hahahaha.... Mental note to self.... Must be more demanding cos I really like it when I get what I want!! ;)

Oh and be on the look out cos I think there are few sets of flickr feet sporting these PINKALICIOUS socks today!! ;)

I was cleaning out my desk today when I came across probably 50 rolls of expired film.... Made me think back to the beginning of my little business, ordering 100+ rolls at a time, sending them in and crossing my fingers that the exposure was correct and having to wait a week before seeing the results of the photo session. Wow have times changed, in an instant we can see if the exposure is correct, we can enjoy the session right after the client leaves and so on..... I had the box of film in my hand ready to throw it out and I just could not do it, I guess I will hang on to it and see what I can create... It was pretty dark when I took this, I had to shoot at an 800 iso, but I didn't mind the grain (pixels).....

I would like to wish all my friends a big greeting for 2020 and Thank you for your support in this past year... been a fun year with our camera's... don't you think?... so get those cameras out and lets see what we can do ... it can only be up from this point..don't you think!! lets get together more and share our time and experiences

What to do, what to do for a holiday greeting...I went with my camera to a festive store yesterday and did a little clicking on likely subjects...and then you know how it goes, get home, download to computer and look for possibilities....and then create, have fun with it all!

We were on the second floor terrace of Caddy's On The Beach, and the gulls were very active. Although I was initially annoyed at them getting into frame, I realized they really were part of the scene.

Spotted this dandelion shedding seeds in a stiff breeze late yesterday. Looks like a night shot but isn't It was in the shade and I used my flash which almost completely darkened the background out. I just touched it up a bit to take it out completely.
