Ipswich Atlantean No. 32 has just pulled out of the old Rushmere Heath terminus and heads back into town along Woodbridge Road East in this 1983 view. It will soon turn left into Heath Road and then proceed into town along Foxhall Road. Later on, Ipswich Buses ceased running along this part of Woodbridge Road East although it is still well served by other operators working beyond the town boundary.

Il y avait sur le quai de l'Entrepôt, dans l'entrepôt réel des douanes, un camp de femmes russes déportées employées à des travaux pénibles de débardage de bois, des troncs d'arbres. Le camp était grillagé avec barbelés en haut de la clôture. Il était de plus surveillé par des soldats Allemands armés, effectuant des rondes à l'extérieur du camp. This bus received a special livery for the Ipswich Borough Transport Centenary Celebrations of 1980. In 1981 this was replaced by another "one-off" livery as shown here. It was like the new standard green livery introduced in 1980 but with brown instead of green. Over the next year or so, 21 was used to try out several experimental liveries.
Northern Counties of Wigan got very much involved in building double-deck bodies especially for Greater Manchester but even in the early Eighties when the single-deck market was flat due to the influx of Transits and Sherpas they still managed to find single-deck orders like this one for some Dennis Falcons for Ipswich.
Ipswich Atlantean No. 30 at Electric House in 1983. The space on the right of the picture had previously been occupied by Tower Ramparts School but was now used for an open air market. This would soon be replaced by a new shopping centre.
Bus 25 is still in the predominantly cream livery introduced by General Manager George Pickup in the mid 1970s to try and "brighten up" the Ipswich image. All 35 Atlanteans delivered in 1976/77 received this livery from new, and six other Ipswich buses were repainted in a modified version of this scheme. It looked very smart when new but the picture graphically shows how quickly the appearance could deteriorate in inclement weather!

Ipswich Atlantean No. 30 in St. Margarets Street in 1985. The street layout in this area has recently been modified and a new bus lane installed for outbound buses travelling between "The Mulberry Tree" and Majors Corner; buses were now the only vehicles allowed to take this route. These arrangements were eventually deemed too dangerous and outbound buses diverted to other routes.

What became a classic bus (and trolleybus view) for about thirty years from 1949 onwards, with vehicles passing under the arch at the bottom of Lloyds Avenue. If I remember rightly, the building work behind the bus was in association with the huge rebuilding of Debenham's Department Store which took place around this time.

Camaret-sur-Mer (Kameled en bretó) és una bonica i turistica població bretona. En protegeix el magnific port natural una llengua de sorra actualment reforçada per la ma de l'home, i rematada per una esglesia marinera i la torre de defensa que feu construir Vauban. Però el que realment li dona un encant especial per la fotografia son una colla de velles i abandonades barques de pesca, que s'arrengleren al costat del pas.

What provides this natural protection is a tongue of sand, now with added man-made reinforcements, plus a mariner church and a defence tower built by Vauban. But what gives this spot it's photographic magic are a handful of abandoned large fishing boats, which cover al the landside path to the tower.
