Replica

The Mercedes 300 SEL 6.3 was a full-sized luxury performance car. It featured the company's powerful V8 from the flagship 600 limousine. The result was one of the world's fastest 4-door cars. AMG, back then a small local tuning workshop, modified a 300 SEL to compete in racing events, nicknamed "Red Sow", which finished 2nd in the 24 Hours of Spa in 1971, putting AMG forever on the map. Its racing career was short-lived, due to the lack of suitable tyres. The car was sold to French company Matra, which used it for test of jet fighter landing gear, but it didn't survive. This is a replica.

SLR and S Class

SSR's 1877 empty containerized log service departs Lithgow behind GM10, S317 & G514.

Photo just sent by a friend who was in Madrid last weekend and whom this nice but neglected S-Class caught her attention while walking around the city.

Turns out another friend had pictures of the same car where the plates are visible and we can see they are 1976 Tenerife (Santa Cruz de Tenerife)(Canary Islands) plates. His pictures are from August 2008 and the car has worsen since.

Very nice find nonetheless.

RL309 and S311 leisurely drag their ARTC ballast train forwards to allow front-end loaders to load the wagons with ballast, which would later be dropped west of Bogan Gate.
