On Friday 2/12/2016, 4578s is seen arriving at Gladstone (SA) with B61-S317-GM27-GM10-S302 (last loco dead attached) in charge. This was the second of the two movements with SSR hauling ex Leigh Creek coal wagons to NSW.
This once busy yard was home to extensive triple-gauge (1,600mm, 1,435mm & 1,067mm) trackwork, as well as a broad gauge connection from Adelaide & the start of the narrow gauge Wilmington branch.
Didn't look too bad, but doubtless lots of niggling items needed for the MoT meant it ended its days rather ingloriously in the mud here. Range Rover and low-spec Maestro also visble.

S300,44209,TL152,S312 round the final curve into Warragoon with an empty El Zorro grain train to Oaklands on 14-10-11.
After failing earlier, 44209 would be detached here leaving the other three to head to Oaklands.

An old spot, but one that is still around and I seem to have overlooked uploading until now. This is one of at least three W126 series Mercs I have seen around town recently. It looks a little unkempt, being rather dirty and having succumbed to the once-popular trend among vandals to snap off the three-pointed star, but would doubtless scrub up well with a good wash. These old S-classes still have a great deal of presence thanks to their bulky and imposing appearance.
